Owner description: This is a small museum within the conference centre of the knights of Malta, in Valletta. The Blurb for this reads“Beneath the ‘Sacra Infermeria’, beside the historic Fort St Elmo, you will discover the chivalrous world of the Hospitaller Knights. Wander in an authentic site and relive and experience a past golden age. Now, you can go back in time through sights, sounds and smells – from the Crusades to the Great Siege, the glorious Hospital and the Plague. Travel across 700 years of history, of the Knights of St John.”

The building is a recreation of the Knights of St John hospital that was bombed during WW2. It's now a conference centre and so there's not much to see apart from lots of displays explaining what it was like. It was an add on to the Malta Experience so I wasn't too perturbed that it wasn't more interesting.

The old Knights Hospitallers is down stairs and separate from other attractions.
It shows what the hospital was like in the 16th century when it was first established. It also shows the history including when the French occupied the island
It helps to depict what life has been like on the island and is an attraction that is worth visiting.

Came as an added extra after the Malta experience. The guide was good but we went round rather fast and didn't get to have as good a look as I hoped for.

The guide was excellant. My wife is a nurse so the interest was even greater, and it did not disappoint.

I went in thinking this was about the Knights of Malta in general; should have known from the name that it focused on the medical aspects of when the building served as a hospital. Interesting but not outstanding, good if you have not before seen what medieval hospital conditions are like. The previous review says the Malta Experience video was included with their visit - it was not with ours... the buildings do connect, but under normal visit circumstances the Experience video is separate.
