This restaurant is located in the city walls and can be seen as you cross the bridge into the city. Its a hidden treasure with marvellous food. We can recommend the steak and lamb dishes. There is a lovely little outside terrace, well shaded from the sun. The restaurant also has a little free exhibition on some of the history of Malta and we wholeheartedly recommend it.

Tucked high up in the city walls of Valetta, this is a great little restaurant for food, charm, atmosphere and service. We went late one evening just for coffee and were treated so nicely we went back another night for dinner. The food was lovely, the staff were friendly and efficient, and the location is really cool.

Rampila has an excellent location overlooking the city ramparts. The food was excellent, my partners risotto (the death dish according to Australian masterchef) was cooked to perfection and my chicken was moist and came with a good selection of veggies. The service was first class as was the atmosphere. The wax works is well worth a visit and is free although a small donation is greatfully received. Overall one of the best 2 restaurants we visited in Valletta and we will definitely go back.

We dined here for my birthday. Sat on the terrace watching Valletta visitors crossing the bridge 100 metres away - amazing view of the city ramparts. The restaurant also contains a small waxworks museum of a Maltese street 100 years ago which is worth a visit.
Although they had a great fresh fish selection we selected meat. Just to give you a feeling, their 'rack of lamb' was actually two racks of lamb, crusted with herbs and breadcrumbs. Amazing amount of meat! Unfortunately it was somewhat too rare in the middle, blue rather than the requested pink. Waiter was summoned, meal was taken away and returned 5 minutes later perfectly pink inside. No fuss, and very well handled!
Dessert was a complimentary cake with sparkler, and two glasses of Prosecco! Thank you!
~90 Euros for 2 with wine and tip. We will be back for the next special occasion...

As mentioned elsewhere, there is restoration work underway on the city entrance, so if you want a relaxing meal go for dinner rather than lunch.
