We discovered Ta' Kris in September 2013 by using our usual tactic of walking along the quieter routes and alleyways. We were on an all-inclusive cruise, so were not really hungry, but wanted to taste something traditionally Maltese. The staff there, especially the lady who we later discovered is called Pauline, made us feel most welcome ... and the food was superb. We were so impressed that we booked a week's holiday in Malta, from which we returned yesterday.
We ate at Ta' Kris four times last week and were not disappointed.
A wonderful atmosphere and delicious food and drink at reasonable prices. The first time, we were lucky to get a table without booking, but subsequently did book - and were glad we did, having seen many disappointed people turned away.

Went in March to the restaurant after reading glowing reviews on this site. Total disappointment on the food front. We all choose from the menu to taste the local cuisine. The selection of starters did not exactly wake up the taste buds and lacked flavours. The rabbit stew was all right but again the sauce let it down as well as the fact that we were mainly served the rib cage and cartilages with little or no meat on it. Desserts were pretty much of the same vein...
Interestingly enough while on the island we tested the local wines and found them delicious and manage to get served 3 rather mediocre ones after following the advice of the waitress. Our moods at the end of the evening manage to match the gloomy atmosphere of the restaurant, staff and clients.

Recommended by my Maltese relatives. Great little place. Had the bragoli and was delicious. My wife had the octopus salad. Guests had the traditional rabbit. Nice relaxing evening. Reservations highly recommended.

We looked for a place to eat lunch after getting of a 12:30pm Captain Morgan Harbour Cruise.

A quick look in the TripAdvisor app indicated that this place is very close and has high review scores.

We went there, and although Google Maps app showed us a different way to walk, I decided to make a shortcut through a small alley and there was this place, in that very alley.

We entered and ordered two seabass fillet dishes.

The fish was done quite well altough it was already s little cold on the sides (I guess it took them a while to prepare the baked potatoes that came with the fish although the place was empty when we came in, that's way it's 4 out of 5)

In short, I guess this place better suites for dinners rather than lunches, but it is also fine for lunch in general.

ordered the octupus salad and maltese pasta, both as starter size. the octopus salad was great, lots of octopus, prepared just right and not chewy. the maltese pasta was great however i would have preferred there to be more maltese sausage in it. the service was very attentive however it was not very busy at the time.
