“Great Hotel”
Reviewed October 2, 2010

Great hotel, wonderful room and a lovely experience. View across harbour to Valetta stunning from our balcony, a real sun trap too. Room clean and comfortable as was the bathroom, main shower didn't seem to turn on but we had one over bath as well so not a problem to us. Roof top swimming pool a lovely area with great views.

We ate in two of hotel restaurants the food was great, we did have one problem as we had really slow service one night but this was politely resolved to our satisfaction.

Only down point, the hotel’s fire alarm sounded at 5am, we all went down to reception to be told it was a false alarm but the alarm continued going off for about an hour even though the on duty staff knew it was not a fire they were not able to turn the alarm off themselves. The whole situation was to say the least confused people passing on the stairs, some going up, others going down, all with mixed messages, thankfully it was not a real fire! But it would have been nice if the hotel management had put up a notice of apology the next day.

Would recommend this hotel to everybody, fantastic location and a lovely place to stay, we had a great break here.

We spent 2 weeks in this hotel in September. The very positive reviews say it all. Staff are very friendly, the food is good. We stayed in a deluxe room which had lovely views of the sea in two directions. The local church bells were loud - but then churches are everywhere in Malta - now we are back home we miss them!
The infinity pool is on the small side, but never crowded. The poolside loungers are very comfortable.
The hotel is close to all amenities. It is a short walk to the buses and Sliema/Valletta ferry in one direction and the beach areas in another. You can pick up taxis from the hotel.
We found this to be very good value for money and look forward to returning again.

Having stayed at another Hotel on Malta that really failed to deliver we escaped to The Palace and were both impressed and delighted with the facilities and Staff.
A suite on the 6th floor gave us a balcony larger than most Hotel rooms, views over the rooftops to the Sea and Valleta, terrific bathroom, lounge area and possibly the Worlds most comfortable superkingsize bed.
The rooftop pool...should I say both both rooftop pools, are complemented by an ample gym and plenty of sun loungers with a view.
Temptasian, the restaurant thoroughly deserves the No. 1 vote for Malta...try the Morrocan Lamb...try the Buttered Chicken...in fact try anything, all cooked fresh by Oriental Chefs who are masters of the kitchen. One of the best meals we have had...still trying to work out if they deliver...
Girls in the Spa provided a top quality massage for the 2 of us, side by side which was a nice touch.
Eclipsing all this were the friendly Team working at the Palace, Martin in the rooftop bar mixes the finest cocktails in Malta and is very hospitable and friendly. As for Moule, One of the management Team, I cant praise him highly enough. He made the stay a memorable one, arranging an upgrade at short notice, ensuring we were happy with everything and generaly turning the trip from great to memorable.
Location is in the back roads of Sliema, a short walk to the harbour tour boats and local shopping. A 5 minute taxi will get you to Valetta...ask for one from the Hotel lobby and within minutes you will be on your way.
This Hotel thoroughly deserves the praise it regularly gets. Smart, modern, good quality but relaxed. Recommended.

Having enjoyed a shortened stay as a result of the ash cloud in April we decided to return for a 10 day break in September.
Ever wondered if a place will live up to your happy memories when you return again for a second time?
We were not disappointed: the hotel, with its facilities, location and ambience continue to impress. The staff, as before, were helpful and attentive. We were delighted with our superior room on the 8th floor with its great panoramic seaviews. From the balcony we watched the cruise ships arrive at daybreak and leave at sunset. We certainly endorse all the positive comments from other reviews; the Palace is the best hotel on Malta, excellent location for touring the island as well as for comfort, relaxation and chilling out in the beautiful rooftop pool area.
We will be back next year.

My husband and i travelled to Malta for our Mini-moon (short break between our wedding and our actual honeymoon, Biggy-moon) we were upgraded to a deluxe room, which was very big and had an excellent bathroom.
The pool on the roof is fantastic and has great views, but like most hotel pools in high season it gets very busy and a couple of times we were left disappointed by not being able to sunbathe by the pool as all the loungers were taken.
I had a spa treatment which was fantastic and totally put me in the relaxation mood and helped me unwind and adjust to the sleepy pace of life in Malta.
The Fusion restaurant on the roof is gorgeous and the staff were really friendly and helpful especially as i am a picky vegetarian! the view is stunning, book as soon as possible to get a table by the edge, it makes for a stunningly romantic evening and a must from the menu is the floating ice cream, yum, yum, yum!
Another amazing restaurant we went to is the Barracuda, just a short walk from the hotel as you head around the bay towards St Julians.
A fab trip we both really enjoyed and would love to revisit some day soon.

The Palace has a vey good location within walking distance from both the harbour and the beach. The staff were very helpful, and the hotel has a great roof pool and terrace. We stayed in one of the suites which was a split level layout and had a very nice terrace / balcony. Recommend the breakfast here as it was epic and catered for even the hungriest of travellers, amazing selection of hot and cold options. A tip for travelling in Malta use the local buses for an experience (very cheap @ 1.16 Euro's) and for taxi journeys use eCabs as they have new cars, are totally reliable and wont rip you off as the prices are fixed on their www site. www.ecabs.com.mt - Enjoy.

We stayed in early September, my partner did all the arranging of this holiday and booked this hotel direct. Must say great choice and when you consider the facilities and quality of the hotel it was good value at around £300 each for 7 nights (excluding breakfast etc).

I would say the rooms are not quite 5 star quality mostly down to our shower which considering how clean and tidy everything else was just looked a total mess as it was rusty/mouldy etc.

Beds and pillows are the most comfortable i have ever slept in and with air con it was a comfortable nights sleep.

Location perfect for food, strolls to the coast, ferries and cruises, trips to Valletta, and buses.

Great hotel would definitely go again if booking to Malta.
