My partner and I stayed at the Palace for our summer holiday in July. The hotel is in a good location very close to the coast, and within walking distance of shopping centres, bars and restaurants. The pool area is lovely and private with a gorgeous infinity pool - sadly were a lot of the usual 'towel on sun lounger hoggers', which is a shame as there aren't an infinite number of spaces to sunbathe. The spa is a great bonus if you enjoy treatments, and they are reasonably priced. We tried the in-house restaurant 'TemptAsian' which was again, very well priced and of excellent quality. The service in the hotel is brilliant and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast choice was good and again, the service brilliant. My only comment would be that whilst the bedrooms are spacious, they are quite bare. I enjoyed having a really large bed, but for a 5* rating the decoration/look of the rooms could be a little more lavish. I would certainly recommend to all groups, and stay again myself.

Room Tip: I think it might be worth paying more for a superior room for that 5* feel.

This was our 4th visit to the Palace. This time We decided to book the Hotel taxi. I wish we had done this before. Definitely a good start to our holiday. Once again we were greeted by helpful and efficient friendly staff who offered us a local drink while our room was being prepared. Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. I did miss the bathrobe but these are now available on request. The area around the infinity pool has plenty of sun beds and the bar staff are attentive and efficient. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and my special bread requirement was catered for without fuss. The Palace is centrally located to the Sliema seafront and restaurants without being on a noisy main road.. On our last night we sampled the delights of the TemptAsian restaurant and we can highly recommend it. Overall another successful visit to Malta and The Palace Hotel.

The Palace is beyond doubt an amazing hotel. Everything from the friendly, courteous and efficient staff, the excellent service, the exceptional facilities, the beautiful location and amazing food selection helped make our stay at this hotel a truly relaxing and unforgettable experience. We stayed in a Concept Suite - The View Suite which was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. It is spacious and airy and we were impressed with the large terraces which boast breathtaking panoramic views of the Grand Harbour, Valletta and the surrounding Sliema area. The roof top pools are incredible and the spacious surrounding areas have plenty of comfortable sun beds; ideal to unwind over a mouth-watering cocktail from the bar, especially at sunset. Last but not least, we dined at the TemptAsian restaurant situated on the 9th floor and although this was not our first dinner there, this restaurant always seems to offer us a new and unique experience. The food is delightful, the service is distinctive and flawless and the place offers a good selection of wine. I honestly cannot find any faults and will undoubtedly return again.

We have just returned from a week at The Palace, having only stayed at one 5 star hotel before and having also been told that In Malta its best to go up on the stars we were wondering how it would go. Well thankfully we weren't disappointed and we had a far better experience than at the last five star one! We booked direct with the hotel and as i am a really light sleeper requested a room away from the bells. We also booked our transfer through the hotel using prestige cabs which were again excellent, from landing to arriving in our room took less that 40 minutes. Reception ran seamlessly and our welcome drink was brought by Tomas who also took up our cases and showed us around our room. We booked a deluxe room and were allocated one on the fourth floor with a distant sea view. The room was spacious and nicely decorated and the bathroom was also large with a bath & shower. The bed was kingsize and in my opinion was really comfortable as were the pillows and the aircon worked very well. The balcony was quite small with just enough room for a couple of chairs and a small table. We had B & B and found plenty of choice at breakfast, we had no trouble getting tea and coffee served - the only thing i would say is that we certainly wouldn't have been able to eat €14 worth of food each so it worked out a bit expensive for us. The wireless internet worked fine in our room and we had no trouble sending emails or looking things up.
The only thing i would have liked in our room was a plug socket near to a mirror so i could use my curling tongs.
The pools and pool area were clean and very nicely laid out although we did find you couldn't get a sunbed if you went after lunch and as we then decided it was best to go very first thing we did see people putting towels on beds and then going off to have breakfast i assume. One man managed to reserve himself 5 sundbeds which i thought was quite impressive! I also think it would be helpful if all the set up and cleaning of the pool area was completed by 8.00 when the pool opens.
Overall the friendly and helpful staff make the stay in this hotel even better and i can recommend this hotel as an excellent base for exploring the island.

Room Tip: Could't hear the bells at the back of the building

The hotel is a good choice logistically (in the heart of Sliema, 5 minute's walk down to the ferry to Valletta and the main bus stops to Valletta and St Julians and the shopping area) as well as for the price/quality in the summertime (a basic double - no breakfast - is around 120 Euro).
Their basic rooms (called comfort rooms) however lack a few 5-star features: a double is OK for two people anyway but not extremely spacious, a bit more natural light is missing (view is on the internal empty courtyard), and the bathroom is a bit tiny (with no window), toiletries could do with a few more items (e.g. moisture cream and conditioner), beds and pillow might be a bit of nightmare as you'll almost sink in them, and air conditioning is a bit noisy if you want to run it during the night.
However, the room was clean, tidy and serviced daily with new towels and toiletries, and furniture brand new and modern - as is the rest of the hotel. On the plus side, the rooftop pools (one big and one smaller and 1.2m deep) area is spacious, brand new, and with several tables and comfy deck chairs/sunbeds, and comes with amazing views and atmosphere especially at night: have a drink at the bar/restaurant (cocktails are surprisingly cheap) and enjoy.
Also, reception and other staff are very helpful, kind and ready to answer your every queries. All in all, a very good choice for your stay.

Room Tip: ''Basic rooms'' might be quieter as they are on the (empty) internal courtyard but t...

We stayed at The Palace for a week in mid-July and had a fantastic time. The hotel itself is lovely and modern. The rooms are spacious and clean. We only had a "standard" room but it still had a balcony with a view of the road and church, you don't really need your own balcony view of the sea - the views you get from the rooftop pool are amazing, just go up there and have a drink!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. And you can order drinks straight from your sun lounger! The two outside pools were open when we stayed (I think there is an indoor one, but this was being maintained). The main pool is an infinity pool and then there is a smaller pool down a level. Both have plenty of sunbeds around them. Although it got very busy at the weekend we still managed to get a sunbed, at any time of day. No getting up at the crack of dawn to reserve your spot, there's enough to go around!

Breakfast was plentiful and tasty and served buffet style, and you can sit outside under big ceiling fans.

Overall, I was really impressed with The Palace and would definitely stay there again. I would probably say that this wasn't a 5-Star hotel experience, but a really decent 4-star. The area itself is safe and it's really easy to get around Malta. You can easily catch the ferry over to Valetta from here, take a boat trip to Gozo & Comino, and walk around the bay to the busy and vibrant St. Julians.

Can't wait to go back one day!

Room Tip: We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a view of the road. Contrary to other reviews, the church bells d...

Excellent hotel for everyone. Staff very helpful and polite. Food was delicious and lots to chose from. The room was extremely clean and our room was outstandingly comfortable. We had a beautiful terrace over looking half of Malta, what a view. Would go again any time. Recommend it to all whether family, honeymooners, single people or couples. The Hotel is close to everywhere in Sliema, shopping centre just down the road, buses also and there was even a lovely Church.
The roof top pool was amazing. Well done to all the staff especially the revenue manager, Mandy Vella, who was always there to be of assistance with a smile.

Room Tip: The higher up the room is, you have a better view.
