Called in for a drink after a meal elsewhere. The old lady serving was definitely miserable, surly and offhand. She served us one handed whilest having a conversation on her mobile phone and no "thank you"when I paid. The beer was not properly chilled and the place has to be one of the most depressing places we have found in Sliema. How they stay open is a mystery

Cheapest drinks we found, but a little strange, you had to ask the lady (owner?)for a key to the loo! Not somewhere we'd recommend for food.

Maybe it's because I fell in love with Malta, maybe I am in that melancholic mood of late afternoon or last hour before closing, but I can't help giving five stars to Drop Inn. I had read in some post in Malta forum, that "this was most gloomy and unwelcoming bar ever...", but I really don't know what people expect? Malta is... Malta.

Well, literally each time I entered this gorgeous cafe, it was empty. I was the only guest, all right.
The owner - an old lady with strange charm and I dare say distant sex-appeal, served me politely (Čisk beer, gin&tonic, campari and soda, what ever I ordered), and I drank my deserved drink in peace.

The bar is well equipped: they have stock of all kinds of beer and spirits imaginable.
I can't imagine why this place is always empty??
I can only figure that the tourists are gulity - again: what the parsnip do they espect?!

During my last visit, this January, the lady (owner) was watching Maltese panel show with ttwo priests and some pepole who probably changed their sex... I looked at the bar:: all kinds of gin, whiskey, rum... Real pub.

The place even offers tempting breakfast and pub meals, very very cheap.

I went there once for that breakfast just to break solitude of the lady owner.

Malta is fabulous. It's a mixture of old spirit of the sixties in eastern Europe, and some Mediitarrenean kingdom from Peter Ustinov's film about imagined land Concordia.

Drop Inn is cheap pub, perhaps the cheapest pub in all Malta. Okay, maybe King George VI bar in Gzira or A1 confectionery (also in Gzira) are equally cheap (and charming).
This trio - A1 confectionery - King George VI bar - Drop Inn Cafeteria present typical Maltese spirit in small bars.

Real Malta. Like in some Harold Pinter's play, without bad ending.

Discover this gem, pelase.
i salute the old lady owner.
