A good hotel at a fabulous price, we stayed at the apartments behind the main hotel, great full open plan lounge dining room and kitchen, with a separate bedroom and bathroom. the apartment fulfilled all our needs while we were in that area. Staff were friendly and very polite. we arrived too early to check in but got a seat in the fabulous oblico restaurant which is attached to the hotel but run separately, fabulous service there too, so much so we looked up their other branch in the north of the island.Food in here is great and the staff take the time to make you feel your custom is very much appreciated. All in i would recommend the apartments, we booked through Ryanair and booking .com and the price was astonishing €27 per night for a massive apartment. Couldn't ask for more.

hotel staff ok,restaurant staff very friendly, buffet breakfast same every day, evening meals buffet, very strange combination, they did not grasp what food goes with what food,do not cater for children, stayed at 4th floor room at the back of the hotel, view was terrible, back street run down & dirty, room itself ok,damp patch on wall, bed covers clean but ripped, flat sheets with marks on and kept coming off the bed, bathroom could do with a new bath very old and stained, shower was hot & powerful,tv was very limited to english channels, room was cleaned everyday, hotel charges for WIFi connection, there were many free WiFi hotspots around the island, arriva buses was great stopped outside the hotel very frequent and cheap 2.60 euros hop on and off all day anywhere on the island,or you could get a 7 day pass for 12 euros, yellow taxi which was the speed boat to and from valletta was 1.50 euros which was great fun, plenty of nice restaurant, lots of small narrow shops, clothes quite expensive, shoes, boots handbags very cheap, great market on Sundays, great ferry over to Gozo, plenty to see, personally would not go back to Malta 100% would not stay at Bayview hotel again.

Room Tip: pay the extra for a sea view or upgrade to a 4 star hotel

Two of us stayed here in July 2011, and everything here was well up to standard. The rooms were clean and well looked after.

We didn't have a bay view, because the location was more central - but we had a small balcony over an indoor garden which we used for drying clothes etc.

The location was great, within walking distance from the bus stop and ferry station, both of which were cheap and can take you to various parts of the island.

Our only problems were administrative, firstly we were placed in the wrong room, only to be moved later on. Secondly, they attempted to charge us for a drink at the end of our stay which we didn't have. Both of these were dealt with very quickly, and hardly impacted upon our stay.

For the price paid, we had a wonderful time and would reccommend it to anyway looking for a similar time.

We stayed in a Bayview Hotel apartment in January 2012. The apartment was about a ten minute walk up hill from the hotel, in a side street. At first we thought it was a long way up the street, but when we got there, it was a lovely block of apartments. The entrance was impressive - a lift took us to the second floor where our accommodation was. The apartment was very clean, well equipped, full kitchen with crockery and cooking utensils,
the bedroom was very nicely furnished with a small balcony leading off. (no sea view) so was the bathroom with a shower unit over the bath and a washing machine for those who wanted it. Towels were changed every single day and sheets changed in the middle of the week. We would be happy to recommend these apartments to anyone. It was worth paying a little extra to have a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen. Shops are very close so are bars and restaurants. There is also an excellent bus service from the bottom of the road. We
popped down to the Hotel on two occasions for breakfast which we paid for separately (3.50e
each) there was an adequate selection and it was good value for money. Overall the Bayview was good value for money, excellent location and we would be happy to stay in one of their apartment again, but for a longer time.

Room Tip: Worth paying the extra cost when booking to secure a one bedroom apartment.

Bayview Hotel

I have mixed feelings about my week-long stay here in January, on 3rd floor.

LOCATION: If you would rather walk around than always utilise the albeit very good bus system this -- the Manoel Island Yacht Yard side, the side from whence the ferries and boating trips depart -- is not the most
appropriate neighbourhood. Residing closer to the Tower Road side, the
Med Ocean side on the way to St Juilian's -- closer to the Tigne Lido, the
Sliema Pitch area -- will give you lots more shops, eating places and seafront
and people-watching opportunities. It is my fourth visit to Sliema, and I will not
knowingly stay in this district again.

STAFF: Friendly, but do not rely on for directions or wake-up. If you are
stressed for time and truly want to visit certain places, get second
opinions about transport, and set your own alarm as back up. I was
sent in the wrong direction on bus and lost an hour, was woken up 20 minutes
late, or not at all. But they are very friendly, and I was slumming, not pressed
for time.

FOOD & DINING: Well-prepared, varied and plentiful. There was always soup, and always 4 types of ice cream. Lots of veges, meat, fish, pasta. Always buffet, but even breakfast had hot dishes. You can really pig-out.
Even on half board, I was satiated, and lunches were skipped -- with my apologies for not helping the local economy on this score.

ROOM FIXTURES: Bed is a bit of a toy, flat-pack variety. As soon as I
came up after checking in, the foot of the twin I sat on crashed --
as two slats had not been inserted into the metal frame properly. It is
adventure-land!
There should be a law against slats under beds, which have the effect of sleeping
on a hammock. To exacerbate things, the sheets are short, narrow and slippery -- so if you prefer your
sheeting to cover the mattress and not creep up and clump up underneath you and,
disturbing your sleep, a poor-remedy is to use your emergency safety-pins to tack
down the bottom sheet.
Yes, it is very poor, even if there was no traffic noise or neighbour noise!

Exceptional is that there were two TV film channels, both of which kept the English language sound track. This was appreciated.

BATHING: Hot water was immediate, plentiful and very hot.

Summary: If you get an outright bargain, as did I, go for it. It's a hol, and you can sleep
when you get home. It's gotto be warmer than the UK, and the bus fares are
so affordable.
