I gave this restaurant three stars ONLY because of the poor service of SOME of the waiters. Otherwise in terms of food, I would give it FIVE STARS, no qualms whatsoever. Moreover, the chef looks very professional and does his job remarkably well. However, two of the waiters, namely Carol and Henda desperately need to work on their attitude with tourists if they want customers to be happy about the service of this restaurant and the hotel in general, and even stretching to the reputation that the Maltese have of being very hospitable towards tourists.
Basically, those two waiters do not even know the meaning of 'Service with a smile'. They were sulking all the way throughout the meal, and were clearly showing they were not doing their job happily and properly. It was extremely annoying! One thing that annoyed me particularly was when a tourist went to pay his bill and thanked Carol, and when he turned his back, she was making fun of him behind his back with the other waiter. I found that attitude disgusting to say the least.
However on a brighter note, I must commend the service of the foreign waiter by the name of Marton who was extremely polite and did his job fantastically well. Apparently, he is not a high ranking waiter and basically receives orders from Carol (not very politely either, shouting from one end of the restaurant to the other...), who seems to be his superior. But I must say that it is Carol who has so much to learn from Marton with respect to the service provided!
As a conclusion, I am satisfied with the food and the environment of the restaurant, but very annoyed by the attitude of just the two waiters I mentioned above. If the hotel administration cares about the standards of performance and the satisfaction of clients, then they should make it a priority to put these two in line.
