I have just arrived back from one of the best nights out! My fiancee and I today were celebrating our 6th anniversary and I must say that we could not have chosen a better place to do so. Hence I would like to take this opportunity to thank all Mareluna staff for the beautiful experience they have given us. The food was divine. Each time we go to this restaurant we always go prepared beforehand with what to order as we would be looking forward to go here. However once we get there and have a look at the specialties we always end up changing our mind and allow ourselves to be surprised by the the chef. Today we ordered mushroom soup served in toasted bread; and chickpea and broccoli soup - they were exquisite and and excellent start to what seemed to be a delicious dinner - hence it was. We than followed with Chicci ricche - deliciously cooked potatoe dumplings in wild mushrooms and tomatoes sauce whilst my fiancee ordered veal escalopes in pistacchio pesto - the veal melted in your mouth and the sauce was perfect. This was accompanied by a bottle of Cote D'Avore wine and closed off in grand with a bannoffi pie and cannoli sicilani. Saying that we are satisfied with the food, service and ambiance is not enough to explain our experience. We started going to mareluna once a month yet today we are going at least twice a month. It is our well deserved treat after a tough long week of work and activities. Initially we thought that this effect was due to the great food alone, but than we soon realized that what made it so perfect was the combination of good food, great dedicated service and intimate welcoming ambiance. We appreciate the effort, care and dedication which mareluna staff puts into their work. I sincerely and genuinely claim that this is coming through and is felt greatly in their work. Keep it Up!

This restaurant is part of the preluna hotel complex but is far from your average hotel. Italian food food well and imaginatively done. You know when you are in a restaurant and the food going to other tables looks more interesting than what you ordered? Well you will have this feeling several times dining here. Not that there will be anyrthing wrong with your food.

The presentation and service is excellent. I had the best piece of veal I.ve had for a very long time. The service is gracious and anticipates your needs, and the staff have top rate product knowledge which is rare these days - first class in every sense.

The wine list is extensive with wines at all levels from affordable to extravagant. There is a good selection of half bottles and they sell a couple of sweet dessert wines by the glass. This is to be applauded.

We ate in here on the last night of our stay and wished we had eaten here every night. Can't fault it - pasta lovely, Gozo wine yummy and first class service. Can't wait to come back.

The pasta is insane...it is so good that I keep on pushing myself to eat even though I would be full up..The taste is incomparable. We have tried going to many other acclaimed restaurants in Malta yet the pasta and soups are incomparable. We always end up saying "good but nothing like that of Mareluna". The soups are fabulous: the seafood soup and the funghi soup served in the crust of freshly baked bread, not to mention the soup of broccoli and chickpeas...superb...the meat is also good...the saltimbocca alla romana are so tender and delicious and the fillet is cooked to perfection...No exaggeration but authentically genuine food which makes a night out feel so complete and perfect. We had gone once to eat at this Chef's restaurant when it was still 'Lo squero'. We were so amazed that we decided to go again yet to our dismay he had moved to another location yet unknown to us. We asked around for about a month and were so happy once we found Mareluna. From that day on we have been going there at least once a month. Fantastic...Keep it up!!

This restaurant has a wide ranging menu at quite reasonable prices.

Staff were very attentive, but not overly so.

It's worth trying the local Maltese wine, as it's significantly cheaper than the imported wines and decent quality too.

The location is on a street just off the seafront in Sliema. Have a look at the menu on their website, and give it a try; you shouldn't be disappointed!
