The food can only be described as "passable". If you want Maltese or Mediterranean style the restaurant produced two dishes during a two week stay. The rest were such delights as roast bee and yorkshire puddings, pork chops, shepherds pie and other standard British cusine.
The indoor pool was due to open on 1st Movember(it does not open during the summer season as there is another pool on the roof)-it had not opened on our departure date(20th November)
The staff in the restaurant lacked the ability to be pleasant or smile.
Having reported a minor fault with a contact switch on our balcony door it took 5 days to get it repaired and that was with the help of the chambermaid.

Room Tip: Book a sea view otherwise you will overlook other buildings

At this hotel, the guests are just a burden.
Because of all the bad reviews on Tripadvisor, we emailed the hotel to ensure that we would get a renovated room in a high floor at the Plaza, not at the Regency. This was confirmed in the answer from the hotel. On arrival, we got two rooms in the first floor at the Regency. We showed the email from the hotel which confirmed our roomwishes. The answer we got was that the hotel was fully booked all the week! The rooms were dirty and smelly. It was mold in the corners and in the bathroom. The tv did not work, and the toilet did not flush. We had to use the shower to flush down. One of us got a new room after two days, the other had to stay on the first room the rest of the week. This room was over the pizzarestaurant with a lot of noise until 01.00 am. The cleaning of the rooms was bad. The room was not vacuumed the whole week, and our used glasses was not washed, just rinsed in cold water. The dishes in the breakfast room was greasy with egg-leftovers from other guests. We met only one nice person in the reception, Sandra. The rest of the staff was unpolite.
This hotel should not be rated with three stars, they only deserve one star.
Stay away from this hotel!

Room Tip: Choose another hotel. Anything must be better than this.

This was a lovely hotel, our rooms were basic but clean. It was in a fantastic location & we had 2 rooms with fabulous views. On our transfer to the hotel we were handed a letter explaining to us that the food on Malta is not always what we expect & not to be disappointed. Alarm bells started to ring & got louder as the week went on!! Breakfast was substandard cereal, a sort of full english & plenty of bread but as a vegetarian I found the alternative of limp lettuce, processed cheese & bread rather dull. Dinner was not much better & there was a total lack of fresh fruit & vegetables. We actually got a last minute deal on this holiday but had we paid the brochure price I would have been livid. The tour operator definitely pre-empted peoples complaints about the food. Having said all that - we had a great holiday!

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view, high floor.

酒店地点很好,我们要的36欧的双人间也带海景。 不太像酒店,像是大学宿舍改造的。
因为就住了一个晚上,所以实在没什么好多说的。酒店可以叫出租车,但是好像不是街上跑的哪种。

The location is good, even a 36 euros room has seaview.
dose not look like a hotel, but College dorm。

We were is the hotle for only one night, so no many comments.
The hotle could help to call taxi, but not the same as taxis on the street.

Just returned from a 10 day holiday at the Plaza Regency, Sliema, Malta. Earlier negative reports made for a feeling of apprehension but we need not have worried as everything was just fine. Our roon (438) was spacious, clean and well appointed. It was not a superior sea view room but did have two balconies and a fully fitted kitchen. We were half board so most of the facilities available were not used but we did find the kettle and fridge handy during our stay. This hotel is in two parts joined by a covered bridge on the sixth floor. We stayed in the Plaza side which when viewed from the sea is the hotel on the left. We had no acquaintence with the Regency however we understand is is awaiting refurbishment. The food was ample and the selection more than sufficient. Malta is a busy bustling place where street noise is ever present so a sea front room is not necessarily the best option. Although the views are magnificient.I speak as a person familier with foriegn travel and view the service provided by this hotel to be more than adequate. The staff were very cheerful and accomodating particularly Anolise on reception. One final thought. Throughout our stay we were impressed by the amount of people who were returning to the Plaza on a regular basis.

Room Tip: Buy your bus pass from the hotel, we had a weekly ticket which saved us a small fortune.

My friend and I paid extra to have a superior room with a sea view in the Plaza Regency. On arrival we were allocated a very std and not very clean room and without a sea view, we overlooked the road and restaurant and had to lean over the extremely sml balcony to get the barest glimpse of sea. When we complained to reception we were kept waiting for ages to see management. The manager informed us that corner rooms could see the sea and that superior rooms were those that provided a kettle and fridge! I kindly informed him of the additional cost we had paid and said we could have brought a travel kettle and saved ourselves money. The other shocker was, we had to keep the curtains closed in our room as it overlooked straight into over guests rooms and what a sight that was first thing in the morning! Manager said he would charge us extra for seeing naked guests and we should be so lucky! I am sure the naked guests would be very distressed if they knew they could be seen getting ready in their rooms. We had to wait 3 days before being given the correct room with a full sea view, we were also in the Plaza half of the hotel and not the Regency half as stated on our sales paperwork! Why call a property by two different names if there is no difference? Restaurant - breakfast ok, but evening meals very limited in choice! Another gripe for us is that they changed times of opening and closure without informing us so we turned up late on the last two days of our stay and got grief of the "Mr Grumpy" chef"! When we discussed this with receptionist we were told there was notices put up in the lifts re winter time changes! It certainly was not in the lift we used each day! She tried to blame it on other guests for removing the notice. Surely a large notice on the entrance to restaurant doors would have been better or better still tell guests when they check in.
Entertainment dated and only available 4 out of 7 nights - and just some old crooners! Ok if you were older and liked to waltz! - Indoor bar area which was called the "terrace bar" had no ambience and certainly no terrace and was more akin to a TV lounge! Certainly nothing for younger holiday makers with children. Indoor pool was not available only apparently during mid November to March. The roof pool bar which was advertised as open all day and until late with special price drinks offers was closed the entire duration of our stay; so no point in camping here for the day as no refreshments available. The only thing going for this hotel is the location, I would liken the hotel to a travel lodge in the uk. Just use it as a base and eat and drink out, but only if you get it for the right price. We didn't as we stayed during school half term! And with no facilities available and poor food and poor entertainment it was not good value for money.
Cara's restaurant was OK. The cakes were yummy and thick hot chocolate to die for, although not all of the serving staff were pleasant. Olga gets a thumbs up for her polite and smiley customer service in Cara's as does the maid that cleaned our 2nd room (sorry didn't get name). Finally, if you have a disability this is not a suitable hotel for you, as there are no ramps just lots of stairs at the entrance, which is not very welcoming when you are weary from your travels and you have a heavy suitcase to carry and the lifts are so narrow you could not get a wheelchair user in them without difficulty. All in all a Fawlty Towers Hotel 2* Travel Lodge, in need of some major upgrading and some of the staff need lessons in provision of good customer service.

Room Tip: Choose a high floor room as this is less noisy and be very specific in your booking in stating not a...
