A week was just right on this Island. The hotel was a bargain buy and for that was done well. Basic and happy is how I'd describe it, the staff were friendly and it had clean beds and shower. We were lucky and had a balcony that overlooked the sea. Close to local transport, the buses are a great way to get around it's all we used, no need to hire a car. Enjoyed spotting the old lorries. Good shopping found a market that sold some new and old things mixed in. Value cost for a good holiday.

All the rooms are basic hence the price. The rooms with a sea view are good value and you can sit and relax on the balcony with the same view as hotels twice the price a few doors down. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the location is good with a bus stop right outside the hotel to Valetta or St Julians. The rooms at the back of the hotel are a bit bleak with hardly any natural light so I would only stay there if you just need somewhere cheap to put your head down.

Room Tip: A standard room will be one at the back with no view and very little natural light, not good for a r...

The receptionists were very helpful when we asked for anything
Housekeeping was very poor, under the bed was full of dust.
The bed covers were filthy.
Needs a good refurbishing as it is not in my opinion 3 star as advertised
Position is good.
If you are looking just fo a sleep, this is the place for you.
I am a regular traveller for over 30 years, this is a fair assessment.
The overall rating is based on 3 stars

Room Tip: Get a room on the front if you want some light the 7th floor was quiet

As a frequent traveller to Malta, I've stayed at many hotels in the Sliema area.
I have just spent a week in the Sliema Chalet hotel on Tower Road seafront. It's a little gem with welcoming, helpful staff who made my stay a very pleasant one. I had a room at the back of the building that was quiet and clean with towels changed every day. It's an ideal base for a business trip. For a summer vacation, I would choose a room at the front of the hotel as they have fantastic seaviews. The hotel's Damier restaurant is on the ground floor and there's a sundock at the top of the building. If you want to swim, the sea is just across the road. For a 3 star establishment, the hotel provides an adequate breakfast both continental and cooked. The location is perfect for shopping, cafes, restaurants & bars and with bus stops outside the hotel, it's very easy to explore the island. The Sliema Chalet is good value for money. Catherine Leuz

it's a cheap, good hotel, with heater for de cold winter nights. The rooms are better than Hotel europa, but the reception at hotel europa is more friendly and good ambiance.
the reception at sliema chalets are more indeferent and unconcerned. The seaview rooms get sun in the morning, the breakfast is very simple.
there is a busstop at the door "sliema chalet" near il-fortizza.the bus X2 from airport stops at the door.
Malta as a good busservice,a lot of busses doing different circular tours.
a ticket for 2 hours costs 2,20 euro, for a day:2,60 and for 12 days:12 euro.
Malta is a cheap country ,safe and very easy to travel with the bus,

Room Tip: choose high floor, seaview, some noise from the street

My elderly father spent two weeks here in September where we joined him and visited several times. We found the staff ranged from a little bit surly to extremely helpful, Most i would say were particularly patient with my Father and his requests. Room was fairly basic but functional, more than adequate for needs and considering price paid. Food again was agreeable and we had no issues or complaints.

What makes this hotel special??:

1. Location: beautiful seafront location ideal for strolls to all Sliemas best locations. Likewise close to the wonderful charms of St Julian's

2. Manager; Mr Ian Sultana; was wonderful, courteous, obliging and took real pleasure in assuring that my sometimes demanding Father was happy and comfortable at all times. This man is a true professional and is a real asset?

We would certainly consider staying here again during our many trips to this wonderful island!

Room Tip: Some rooms have excellent sea views for an extra charge
