“Yet another great stay at the Victoria”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2013

We have just returned from our 4th stay at the Victoria and yet again we have had a great time. The staff are so attentive and really make every effort to make sure you enjoy your stay.

The indoor pool has been refurbished and is fantastic and a wonderful place to relax, with a larger area for sunbeds and chairs.

We have already booked to return again in the spring.

Lovely Hotel, helpful staff. We found the pace at the Hotel suited us great, nothing too much trouble for staff. Classic Hotel, good food, comfy bed. More a couples/adults hotel, us just great choice of two pools, one infinity! Plenty of plush sunloungers. Five min walk from Sliema Harbour, restaurants etc. Had a meal at both Penny Black Bar - delicious and TemptAsian Restaurant at it's sister hotel, great food too. Def go back

Room Tip: DOn't bother with balcony room as hotel does not overlook sea!

Beautiful hotel, well priced, top class facilities . We are a young couple of 21 and 23. We wanted a relaxing break and chose this location in Sliema, Malta. We travelled from the 27th Aug - 7th Sept 2013. It is a relaxed hotel, with help staff and is in a good setting - only a 5 minute walk from the sliema sea front. The hotel is quite quiet, especially at night (if you are looking for in hotel entertain there isn't much) but we did not want that. We were only B&B (Breakfast was great, lots of choice) and enjoyed going out in the evenings, walking through sliema and up to St Juilians Bay - there are restaurants the whole way up this walk on the front and we felt everything was very well priced. Most of our meals for two cost between 30-40 euro and that was including either wine or start/desserts. All the food we had was of a good standard, lots of lovelt italian influenced restaurants. Back to the hotel, if you enjoy relaxing by the pool on some days of your holiday the Victoria will not disappoint! The roof terrace as two pools, one on the 8th and one on the 9th floor, these are beautiful. you can swim and relax looking over the surrounding view of Sliema. This really made our holiday! There is also a small gym, which is fine for a little bit of exercise to work off some of the holiday food and drink, but it is by no means brilliant. Just a couple of treadmills and some free weights (but you don't want to spend too much time in the gym on holiday anyway) There is very little faults I can say about this holiday and the holiday in general. Was very enjoyable and relaxing! Some other notes you may want to consider - Malta is very small, you can get a bus ticket for 12 euro which you just buy on the bus and it allows you to use any bus on the island for 7days, this was very handy. You can travel to mellieha bay (about 50/60mins) for a day at the beach as Sliema doesnt have a sandy beach. Also we don't really buy in to travel tours but we did a great tour of gozo with ezee (not 100% sure if thats the correct name) which took us on speed boat to gozo did a short tour of about 2 hours in gozo and then time to get lunch followed by a trip to the blue lagoon...(which was soooo busy in august, which is a pity because it is a very beautiful swimming spot) and then speed boat back to Sliema. All for 30 euro which we felt was a good price for the trip. Last point - sliema is a quiet enough area, St juilians is more lively for a night out (there is also Paceville which is full of younger people, we had one drink there but didn't stay for the whole night out, lots of clubs and bars) But for a few drinks and lovely cocktails try TEX MEX in sliema or the restaurant bar nextdoor to it MedAsia... Hope I have been of help to any of you considering Sliema and the Victoria! I would really recommend it :)

Best primarily for older adults and as a home base for sedate tour groups. Not well suited for small children (no pool lifeguards, and limited TV offerings). Comfortable and quiet, but not deluxe ''superior'' rooms. I had a good 13 night stay, although the internet service was poor at best (only worked in the lobby), and I was unable to use the only heated (indoor) pool

Dear Michael H,

I would like to thank you for sharing your experience at The Victoria on Trip Advisor. Your time and contribution have been greatly appreciated.

We also would like to thank you for your constructive and valuable comments, which have been discussed during the weekly operations meeting. It is through your direct feedback which enables us to address certain situations.

The hotel has embarked on a series of major projects hence to ensure the best quality service at all times. Last week we have re-opened our Indoor Pool Facilities together with the Gym after a total refurbishment, just in time for the winter season.

Whilst we understand that the WIFI signal might be a bit low during peak hours we confirm that we are currently in the process of upgrading our current system to a WIFI system powered by Ruckus, there again with the scope to meet and exceed our guests' experience.

Whilst assuring you of our best attention at all times, we sincerely look forward to the pleasure of re welcoming and hosting you once again at The Victoria Hotel.

Sincerely,

This hotel was a gem! Not only is the location great with a short walk down to the water front, the hotel itself is just wonderful. The decor was warm and classical, our room was spacious with the comfiest beds... they were so soft, I had the best sleep of my Europe trip here. The pools and pool area was fantastic and plenty of sun beds and tables and chairs to choose from. Breakfast was a treat, so much variety and yum. Staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. My only small problem was there was no fridge in the room, we like to buy drinks and snacks to keep in our room but this certainly would not keep me from staying at Hotel Victoria again. You will be happy to stay here.

Just returned from my autumn visit to the Victoria. As always the service and the staff excel in help, friendliness and professional service. Still good value, good food, well kept rooms and a car park as a bonus. Parking has become a little scarce in Malta in recent years. The front desk deserve a special mention. Their can do attitude is unsurpassed in my experience. Approach, ask, DONE.
Already looking at flights for the spring break!

We stayed for around 10 days as a part of a Cosmo holiday / Tour of Malta. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful or welcoming. They would arrange tours for us; help with any arrangements required and were always friendly. Our arrangement was half board, and we found the food to be very good, and (importantly) not monotonous. The rooms were clean and kept clean throughout our stay. We would certainly recommend the Victoria.

The Victoria is in a good location, (but you will not have a sea view!). The staff were always ready to help out with tips for travel and when we hired a car, there was plenty of parking available.

Free WiFI was provided, although the signal was weak at times, but this is a very minor issue.
