We spent a week at this hotel we had a most wonderful stay, opted to stay at this hotel as it was central to the whole of Sliema . the hotel staff could not do enough for us, Special mention to Charles Portelli and all reception staff, We had a problem with noise coming from the indoor pool which was being upgraded, this was no problem we were immediately upgraded to the wonderful Palazzo Capua next door. Fabulous place, beautifully restored building, suite was excellent and terrace was quiet and relaxing.Although no sea view, amenities and view from roof made up for it. Stayed half board. Food was very good and varied Staff at Copperfields also gave an excellent service.
Dined at the Temptasian restaurant on the roof, food and service was excellent. The hotel even made a cake for my 60th Birthday.
Again a special mention to Charles, long may you reign. This will always now be our hotel of choice, looking forward to returning next year.

Wonderful hotel in an excellent location, quiet yet only 5 minutes walk to the sea, shops, bars and restaurants. The roof terrace restaurant, serving Asian fusion cuisine is superb and has the most incredible views over Malta - very romantic! The staff are extremely professional, friendly, chatty and kind and made a huge effort to ensure we had the perfect stay. The hotel shop is really worth a visit to chat with Kathleen, a lovely girl who gave us loads of tips about things to do in Malta. Definitely can recommend the hotel 100% and really look forward to returning.

Another two week visit at The Victoria over. What has changed since our last visit in March? Well the indoor pool is being upgraded/refurbished and will not be available for use until September. Not a problem as the two outdoor pools are available. We will see how it looks in November.
The manager (Kevin Callus) also intends starting as soon as practical refurbishing the bedrooms and bathrooms. The bathrooms particularly in some rooms are in need of this work and I am sure they will look wonderful when done. The logistics of carrying out this work must be a nightmare to arrange as a whole floor will need to be closed as you cannot have guests and workmen who will be removing baths etc in the same area. Difficult work to arrange for a hotel that is very well occupied throughout the year.
Everything else is the same - very good and varied selection of food at breakfast and dinner. The same wonderful staff that cannot do enough to make your stay at The Victoria as enjoyable as possible.

Have just returned from our second visit to the Victoria Hotel and again can only praise the hotel for its excellent service and fantastic staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. We stayed on a Bed and Breakfast basis and found a wonderful restaurant called Cardini on the sea front just a few minutes walk from the hotel. This restaurant offers great food and is reasonably priced. The hotels central location is excellent for getting around the island and if you don't mind mixing with the locals the bus service is both cheap and reliable. My husband and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and all being well we will be staying there again next year.

Just come home after our third trip to The Victoria. It really is a lovely hotel with fantastic staff, nothing is too much trouble. The Front office manager Charles is a brilliant ambassador for the hotel. We have always had a lovely room, very clean and comforable and spent some very enjoyable evenings at the bar on the roof terrace which has fantastic views over Malta and towards Valletta. Really convenient for the town centre and buses and ferries to all the different parts of Malta. Will definitely be visiting again.

Room Tip: The rooms 08 to 24 have lovely views of the Villa next door

We stayed at the Victoria Hotel for our honeymoon in April and were delighted that we chose to stay there. The staff were all incredibly friendly and couldn't do enough for you. When I told the Manager that it was our honeymoon, he upgraded our room for us. It was a really nice touch and made us feel very special.

The Victoria Hotel is really well located, just a short walk from the beach and some excellent restaurants. The local public transport was also good so it was easy to nip round the coast to St Julians for a bit more night life if you wanted it.

Another highight was the rooftop pool. Whilst it was slightly too cold for us to use in April we thought that the infinity pool overlooking the rooftops was stunning. If we'd have booked our holiday for July or August I'm sure we would have spent far too much time up there relaxing!

The rooms were, as a few other people have mentioned, a little tired and dated. However, they were impeccably clean and the maids were very friendly so we didn't mind too much. If you're looking for really modern and contemporary then you might want to book somewhere different but we loved the old school feel. The Chesterfield sofas in the lobby area and the low lighting in the bar area gave everything a lovely old school feel.

The staff were fantastic and the service was truly excellent. Whether you were having a drink in the bar or chatting to someone on the front desk, everyone was very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. That's what made the Victoria really stand out and we're really pleased we chose to stay there.

I have been travelling regularly to Malta for business and family holiday's for the last 10 years and have always stayed in the Sliema area. For most of my visits I have stayed at The Victoria Hotel because of the quality of service and its location. Having stayed at a number of other hotels in the area I have found the quality of service at The Victoria to be much higher than their competition and better than hotels classified as a higher star rating. I have also found the quality of the rooms is better than their competition.

My most recent visit was for a week in July 2013 as a family holiday. There are numerous good restaurants and cafes within walking distance so we stay on a B+B basis. The breakfast selection is extensive and was kept refreshed even at busy times. We spent our time relaxing either by the Hotel rooftop pool or on the rocky beach 10 minutes walk away. My two teenage children enjoyed swimming and snorkling along the rocky beach. Best to stay in the swimming zones though as some of the boats and jet skis come quite close to the coastline. We also used the hotel gym which is small but well equipped.

We had a very relaxing week and would certainly recommend the hotel.
