recently returned from our second all inclusive stay at the Preluna hotel Malta. The food was very good at breakfast didn,t bother with lunch as we expected to eat at the pool area bar , but discovered it was being refurbished so no food and limited supply of drinks. The dinner was acceptable but bland although the choices were ok.,The rooms were clean and tidy but a little dated and the lifts seem to have a mind of their own,new ones were being installed during our stay but needed programming correctly as they didn,t seem to stop on the second floor.
The bar at the Skyroom and the lobby were the same as last year queueing for drinks each time you wanted one. This was a big let down as I reported this fact last year but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
We tried to get the A/C on in our room but was told not until the !st of June or until enough people asked for it.Eventually after numerous complaints we received a free standing A/C unit.
In conclusion I would recommend not to go all inclusive as it is a waste of money, the drinks accross the road are cheaper and quicker to get served. This hotel seems to cater for the over 70,s as we were nearly the youngest there at 65.I would say the average age was around 75.
Would revisit but later in year when all the amenities are in use and only on bed and breakfast basis.

Room Tip: choose a second floor as the lifts take an eternity to arrive and you can use the stairs. All inclusi...

Hotel has good location, there are few restaurants with good local food nearby, great kebab place:).
In front of hotel's main door are bus stop and Hop-on bus stop.
Few steps from marina.
Staff is very friendly, room clean, tv is useless, problem is the noise from the street if you stay on lower floor.
Very good breakfast, nice bar on 13th floor.

Room Tip: book room on upper floor

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your kind and honest review here on the Tripadvisor.
We are glad you found the location, staff and your room good.

As the Hotel is located on the seafront, indeed it is busy in the peak hours but the rooms are equipped with double glazed fenestration to prevent the noise.

We are happy about you have enjoyed your stay in the Preluna Hotel & Spa.

Looking forward to welcome you again!

Kind regards,

We have just returned after spending ten days at the hotel.
Our stay was enjoyable but not up to expectations based on a recommendation from a friend who's judgement we value.
We booked a superior room high up.
It was three hours before we were able to get into our room which was not what we had asked for.
The reception staff were courteous and helpful but not able to move us that day. the following day we were moved, albeit to a smaller room.
Rooms are in need of a deep clean and the beds are just tolerable.
Bath towels are not white and we had several that had holes in them and were frayed at the ends

Perhaps we chose the wrong time to dine but when we arrived in the dining room it was like a rugby scrum at the counters
The food is fresh and breakfast is good, dinner lacked imagination and was repetitive so that after a few days it became unappealing.
Senior staff in the restaurant openly and loudly chastised the waiters who in our opinion were pleasant, efficient and helpful.

This is rated a 4 star. We have stayed in many hotels and this is a basic 3 star, no more.
We reported our comments to the Guest Relations Officer who said they were familiar and she had heard them before. She said all guest comments were reported to senior management. We can only assume they feel no need to take any action to improve standards.

It is well located and this made our stay, Malta has much to offer. We would advise anyone thinking about staying there, not to expect too much and to just ,take the breakfast option. There are lots of good eating places within a few minutes walk or bus ride from the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a high room, the lower ones are noisy.

Have just returned from a weeks stay at the Preluna, this is a well run hotel with friendly helpful staff. The rooms are well presented and comfortable and are cleaned daily. The food is hot and well cooked but is very limited in choice but unless you are very fussy you will get something. Having been to Malta at least 20 times i found the new buses not as good as the older ones as they now attract a lot of pickpockets as passengers crammed in particularly on trips to Valetta. The down side of my holiday was the fact that i booked my holiday via THOMAS CROOK sorry COOK whose customer service department are shocking and are not interested in anything other than taking money from and once they have it you are just an inconvenience.

Room Tip: sea view rooms are very good

Have just returned from our fourth wonderful stay at The Preluna Hotel and Spa, taking my father and stepmother with us this time as we have enjoyed it so much in the past. We booked the superior sea view rooms again and they were as good as we remembered. The hotel is getting better and better - the main block lifts have now been replaced and they are considerably faster that the old lifts, which was a recurring gripe in some reviews. You can get from the hotel lobby to the Skyroom in a jiffy now. I can't add much more to my previous reviews except to say that this year the staff seemed particularly friendly - maybe it's wrong to single people out, but Martin in the Skyroom, Ivan and Louise on reception, Chloe the barmaid/waitress and Darren the barman all deserve special mention - as does the tiny Maltese lady doing the housekeeping on Towers Floor 7 on weekdays whose name I don't know. Particular thanks to you all for being so friendly and welcoming. This hotel is ideally positioned for all sorts of attractions, bars and restaurants and as soon as my employment situation is resolved we'll be booking for 2014 - we would have booked again while there, but in this uncertain economic climate we need to make sure we can afford it! My father and stepmother loved it too, and are also looking forward to returning.
Thank you all at Preluna, I can't wait until next time!

We stayed as part of a 'Long Stay Holiday' for most of March, and both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, and we would recommend the Preluna especially for British Pensioners at that time of year, its central for buses either going into Valletta or futher up the coast, All the staff were very helpful and I am still trying to lose weight from the quality/amount of food (we were on half board)
The only 'complaints' are my personnel views and actually NOT against the Preluna
1) the Gym, its not run by the Hotel, however: I was hopeful that as a Guest in the hotel I could make use of it at a discount maybe 'off peak'. Yes, I could use it at a 'Day Rate' I tried to explain that I don't want to use it ALL day, just maybe an Hour, two at the Very most, - nothing doing
2) Time Share Touts, (Who use the Preluna as a base) we were approached 4 times, we got to recognise them by sight in the end, it was like observing leaches - they brought SHAME on the Preluna

Just returned from an excellent stay at The Preluna Hotel & Spa 1st- 15th May 2013.We would thoroughly recommend this Hotel the food is a lot better than most four star Hotels in Malta especially the sumptious breakfasts which were five star quality. Certainly worth paying for a seaview room they are large with beautiful views didnt want to come home! Front desk staff very pleasant and helpful also the Hotel guests relations staff were very nice. Evening entertainment in The Skyroom was good and it is bright and welcoming. We will be staying in this hotel again, it is very handy for the buses which are frequent and are well run at the Valetta bus terminus. Please try this Hotel highly recommended. V. Blye and P. Gray
