We have dined at Fresco’s a number of times, and the food is consistently good – not spectacular, but good. Whilst parking is always difficult in Sliema, the place is well located, perched on the side of the Sliema esplanade, over-looking St Julians Bay. In the summer, one can dine outside on their terrace – lovely location.
We both had pasta (one penne the other smoked haddock risotto) as main meals. The pasta was well cooked and the sauces were very tasty. Not on the menu this time, but a great choice is the quail pasta. The small desserts were particularly nice. Pricing is quite reasonable, especially considering the over-large portions of pasta they give – indeed they are a little too big (fuelling the obesity problem that is prevalent in Malta). Service is good, the waiters are attentive and polite. We had a nice bottle of white wine, and Limoncello to finish (both were good but the latter was a little too sweet).
After the haddock pasta, one of us did suffer from a bout of stomach pains later on in the evening. We would return but to take care not to have ‘stomach sensitive’ food!
