We have dined at Fresco’s a number of times, and the food is consistently good – not spectacular, but good. Whilst parking is always difficult in Sliema, the place is well located, perched on the side of the Sliema esplanade, over-looking St Julians Bay. In the summer, one can dine outside on their terrace – lovely location.
We both had pasta (one penne the other smoked haddock risotto) as main meals. The pasta was well cooked and the sauces were very tasty. Not on the menu this time, but a great choice is the quail pasta. The small desserts were particularly nice. Pricing is quite reasonable, especially considering the over-large portions of pasta they give – indeed they are a little too big (fuelling the obesity problem that is prevalent in Malta). Service is good, the waiters are attentive and polite. We had a nice bottle of white wine, and Limoncello to finish (both were good but the latter was a little too sweet).
After the haddock pasta, one of us did suffer from a bout of stomach pains later on in the evening. We would return but to take care not to have ‘stomach sensitive’ food!

Food is ok, though not great. massive serve of lamb cutlets, though they were very fatty. Side of couscous was really cold.
Bruschetta starter and desserts were both good. Just over 40 euro for shared starter, two mains, two desserts and drinks.

Nice view, eaten some pasta with clams - tasted good. The desserts are delicious but small. Don't forget to check the bill: we had to ask for recount, cause there were 4 coffees and 4 juices instead of 2 of both. Overall the place is nice.

We went here twice for lunch, the first time they told us after we'd ordered drinks that no pizza's could be ordered even though it said Pizzeria Open. So we had to drink up and pay for drinks we didn't really want when we wanted lunch. We decided to try again a few days later, checked before ordering that pizza's could be ordered. They took over 30 mins to arrive, we were the only people in the place so it wasn't busy, when they did they were burnt to beyond crispy and had all sorts of burnt bits on the bottom from the oven they were cooked in. Overall, not impressed. Much better places locally.

We recently had technical problems with our pizza oven and it took a couple of days for technicians to first identify the problem and then replace our thermostats (and other parts).

Unfortunately the oven was working in an erratic manner - it would be fine one moment and then lose all settings for a while.....and then go back to normal. One can imagine the frustration this caused our Pizza chef.

We therefore acknowledge that some of our pizzas did not come out right, but on the few occasions that this did happen, we apologised to our customers and immediately replaced their pizzas. (It takes about 8 minutes to cook a new one)

Although this is no concern of the customer who, justifiably, expects a perfect pizza every time, unfortunately these things do happen especially after a very busy summer season where the ovens were in use for 11 hours a day, 7 days a week in a very busy restaurant.

We assure your readers that the problem has now been solved and that we are again offering one of the best pizza's on the island lovingly prepared by our veteran (40 years experience) Italian Pizza Chef.

We also apologize most sincerely to 'NCL19' and to anyone else who may have been served a less than perfect pizza during those 2 days.
