Every so often, one comes across a truly unique dining experience. Bacchus is one of those places. From the architecture and the artifacts to the menu selections and the extensive wine list, it was an excellent experience. (the air conditioning was welcome as well). Even if you only stop in for a quick Cisk, don't miss this gem.

Went to Bacchus as it was recommended for having a good range of fish. Turned out to have one fish dish (day’s catch) which was red bream (talapia) or a very sorry looking bass. We selected the whole fish grilled and settled down to wait, and wait and wait ..... the place wasn’t that busy so it really shouldn’t take a pro kitchen 60 minutes to deliver a bit of grilled fish. When it arrived was it excellent ... no, it was dry and largely tasteless served with a wedge of lemon and some fried potatoes so thick they were barely cooked in the middle. Really wasn’t good.

Very quirky, artefacts all over the place. Good stop off to get out of the heat. Food looked good although we did not eat, just a beer and wine.

Only stopped for a very refeshing beer after walking around Mdina for a few hours. The staff were very friendly and the location was a welcome cooling one with some ice cold drinks.
