This restaurant provides wine at supermarket prices plus a 4.50 euro corkage charge or you can bring your own wine and they will charge you the corkage. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable regarding the wines he sold and successfully directed us to a wine we enjoyed.the food was tasty and had that home cooked feel and was served efficiently and presented well.

We were looking forward to visit Theos after stumbling across the Facebook page and falling in love with the photos of the decor inside and of the food presentation. So we booked a table for Saturday evening. Currently the restaurant is advertising the Chef's Taster Menu comprising of dips, starter and a selection between 2 types of main courses: Souvlaki (marinated & grilled chicken or pork pieces on a skewer) and Mousaka (layers of eggplant, potatoes, and veal minced meat, topped with bechamel sauce & baked). We decided to opt for this menu since at Eur15 per person it was quite a deal and sounded good.

When we arrived a waitress showed us to our reserved table. She gave us menus & we ordered drinks. Drinks arrived quickly. So far so good. We didn't take long to decide since we already knew about the Chef's Taster Menu. However our efforts to grab the attention of the waitress to order food were futile. Minutes were passing and we were being totally ignored. After a while a table of 6 persons was shown in just behind us (our chairs were touching!) and I took the opportunity to lean towards the waitress and ask politely "Can you please take our order?" She replied abruptly that she will come soon. Our neighbour's drinks arrived and she took their food order before ours....much to my annoyance. Another table was shown in, more drinks were served and still we were ignored despite our efforts to signal to the waitress. After ages a man came to take our order. When we ordered one souvlaki & one mousaka we were informed that the mousaka has finished. This was another disappointment since after being made to wait so long and hearing the table who came after us order 3 Mousakas this was the cherry on the cake. We had to settle for 2 souvlaki. The food was good but our experience was tainted by this unprofessional service.
It should also be noted that there is no air conditioning, so it does get a bit stuffy & unpleasant on a Maltese summer day, even with the windows open.

Having said that the food is quite good, and the decor is unique.

They offer a menu which consists in entree+principal+drink for 10 euros and the dishes are elaborated and they serve relatively quick. It doesn´t look at all like a cheap restaurant and the portions are big and tasty. I would repeat.

It did not deliver what it promised. Atmosphere is lovely - really nicely decorated with Greek music in the background. But the service is just about fair, food felt like it had been reheated and general comment is that the lamb and the veal patties were rather dry. Courtesy and basic customer care less than basic. Rice and potatoes cooked nicely.

Really wanted to like Theos and had high expectations. First off the place is really nicely decorated and they really made a good job at creating the right atmosphere. Prices are on the expensive side however to be honest I don't mind if the quality of food is good, unfortunately in our case it wasn't good at all.

Dips and starters where ok, packed plenty of flavour. Unfortunately things the mains where a big let down, especially the lamb which was very dry almost as if it was pre cooked and reheated. The meat balls where also very bland with no flavour whatsoever. The only good comments we had was about the koftas and the potatoes served as sides.

We visited on a weekday and the restaurant was almost empty so they have no excuses for this level of service. Theos really need to up their game before I decide to give them another visit.
