Personally I like to visit at night as the darkness adds to the ambience of the place. I usually go by the local minibus tour " Malta by night " and they stop there for a while. I can recommend the Xsara Palace hotel where you can sit outside and enjoy hot chocolate and gateaux at a very reasonable price, considering that it is one of the leading hotels of the world group.

this brilliant, charming and soulful city is so beautiful and full of history, you will love it during the day as much as in darkness. we spent a whole day there and went back for a meal after dark too.

Very perfect, almost too much so. Only 400 people live in Mdina and it is in danger of becoming a theme town. Having said that nothing can detract form the beauty of the place

Can easily be reached by Buses 51,52 or 53 direct from Valletta (Bay 9 at the bus station). You do not need to take a tour. The 2.60 euro bus ticket for the day will take you there and back ( 45 minutes each way). It is nice to just walk around and see all the sights- and we can recommend Bacchus for lunch. A full morning is all that is required to see it all.

Walking around the old city at night is like being picked out of time and sent back to the crusades era. I would advice everyone to take a look over the forts walls to the city's below especially at night and you will understand why the fort was built in this location. :)
