On a recent trip to Malta, visited the Mdina one morning and the tour was being sheherded into see a film show on the area. Now this was probably a very good film, but with the sun blazing down in the little square, we thought coffee and a cake a good idea, so we plumped for the Don mesquita. This is bigger than it looks wuith a good sized basement for dining etc, as long as you don't mind a circular stone staircase (my wife say's they move - even the stone ones
Excellent coffee and really good sized slice of apple pie. Nice people, good service and .reasonabel prices.
One tip in Malta - if you ask for a black coffee, you get Nescafe, ask for an Americano and they use real coffee
