The Medina Restaurant is nestled in the silent city of Mdina- a old limestone walled city. The setting is an old Maltese limestone building, with a covered courtyard for warm weather seating, a fire warmed lounge, and several dining rooms. The decor is lovely and one has to look closely to see how the modern lighting has been added unobtrusively to the ancient stone walls. The food was delicious! Our fish entrees were perfectly prepared, the starters innovative and also fabulous. I made reservations via email with Noel and he was very accommodating and helpful. Our evening at the Medina was by far the best meal on our trip- We loved Malta, will return to learn more about the history and every trip will include a stop at The Medina Restaurant. Cannot recommend it enough!

I was visiting Medina one evening with four work colleagues, we wanted to eat but did not want to get 'ripped off' by a tourist restaurant in this beautiful walled town. The pizza restaurant that we were looking for was closed so it was with some trepidation that we chose this place.

We were not dissapointed. It was outstanding from the start. The atmosphere is wonderful and the welcome warm and not overboard. The food was Michlien Star quality, the portions were generous. My colleagues had the rack of lamb and duck breasts and I opted for the traditional rabbit. I would say they were all outstanding. The bill worked out for starter and main course at about forty euros per head, great value for money.

As you enter the restaurant you are seated in the foyer area with sofas surrounding a big fireplace. You can place your order there whilst talking and sipping a drink. You are seated in the restaurant once the first course is ready to be served. The restaurant is very warm and romantic and the menu is varied. Portion sizes are very good and desserts are heavenly! A great restaurant if you want to go with your special someone on a romantic date

Very athmospheric restaurant and nicely set up (drinks in the bar and then brought to table etc.)

Staff are very into the food and the waiter brought me through the menu with excitement (which was infectious)

Not sure the end result lived up however - ordered the lamb pink (as per recommendation), however what arrived was clearly cooked many hours earlier and re-heated (felt like a carvery). Not sure it would compare to de Mondion

Went recently for a dinner with friends.. Meal was excellent and service too

However, meal was overall a bit pricey €55 per head including half a bottle each of moderately priced wine, which also included a cover charge (who leaves them there nowadays!) and with such a price, not even a coffee was offered.. I know they dont have to, but it would have been courteous

Oh well, very good overall, but no cherry on the cake
