“A must see in mdina”
Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

Great museum - a bit expensive at ten euro but worth visiting. Really well curated and audio guide was informative without being overwhelming. Really liked the digital technology too! Staff were very helpful plus there are fantastic views across Malta from the roof terrace/cafe. One of the better historical houses I have been to in quite a while.

“Relax and absorb the quiet treasure this place is.”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

An Historic House museum, located in the 2nd oldest house in Mdina (ca 1300), Malta's original capital city. The house itself is Norman style with neat rooms and in-situ carvings & interesting private collections of Capt. Gollcher art objects, including paintings by Pretti, Van Dyck, Poussin. At roof level is the Cafe with a few small snacks...nothing amazing....BUT the panoramic views of The Mdina are breathtaking. This is a quiet place to escape to, to enjoy a taste of history and to relax with awe at the views. ...and if you dare to haul out a tablet or iPad in such a setting, there is free WiFi.

“Cafe”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

Very cozy cafe (with decent prices and free Wi-Fi) on the top with amazing view. If you tell the staff that you don't want to see the exhibition and just visit the cafe, you don't need to pay the entrance fee.

“Not worth a visit”
Reviewed December 1, 2012

The people running this place charge you 10 euros to enter and have the nerve to prohibit any kind of photography, including non-flash photography. When asked why non-flash photography (which of course does no damage to exhibits) isn't allowed, they tell you they don't know. I'd recommend that you spend your time and money elsewhere.
