Mdina itself was a beautiful place but the highlight had to be Palazzo Falson. Our young guide to the museum (Phoebe) was truly enthusiastic and explained evrything to us. Her passion for the place was inspiring and her knowledge was incredible. Taking us from the lovely courtyard through to the lower floor she described all the artefacts and their uses then told us to "Enjoy the rest of the house, m'dears". The whole museum is packed with beautiful items, pictures, silverware and furniture. The Maltese guide on the top floor was just as keen to give us information and I found the personal touch was much better than having the audio guide. A really lovely little museum with great staff.

Palazzo Falson is a wonderfully restored 16th century palazzo and true must-see in the atmospheric Mdina. After its last owner had died and the palazzo fell into disrepair, it has been finally fully brought back into life, it feels as if the family have just left for the day. You can really get a sense of what life was like for the Maltese noblesse. It is full of wonderful original furniture, artwork, household items...Excellent self-guided audio, which contains just enough information without being overwhelming, really works brilliantly. Great views from the rooftop cafe are an added bonus.

Well worth a visit of you are in Mdina. The courtyard is really beautiful and there is a good collection of furniture and objects d'art. Very good self guided audio system too that you point at numbers in each room to hear the commentary
