We rented the 400 year old farmhouse at the hotel. It's situated at the back of the hotel, seperated from it by a wall. Access is through the swimming pool area.
Nice surrounding, quiet, only lack of an airco forced us to move to a bungalow after a week. Too hot for our baby in 38 °C.

The hotel has nice facilities and several swimming pools.

Only negative experience was the totally worn out baby bed they provided.

Xaghra / Cornucopia is a good starting point for experiencing Gozo. We really would like to return in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for the farmhouse if you want more privacy. The bungalows which are build into a hillside acros...

We stayed at the Cornucopia Hotel for four days over the Easter holidays. It was our first time at this Hotel as we were suggested this Hotel by some friends who had already stayed before. We stayed in one of the family rooms which has two bedrooms and a bathroom, which suited us well as our two kids had their own room. It was kept clean all the time. Towels were plenty and of good quality. Also the room had a balcony over looking the manicured pool area and garden which was so peaceful just to sit there. Our booking was on HB basis and was really worth it. Breakfast great, fresh and very good choice. Dinners were great too, we had fish night on Good Friday after going to the church to see the pageant. And on Saturday they have the Carvery with live music, we loved it.But what really impressed us is the service, from theManager to all the staff, all go out of their way to help and see that we were well looked after. Our kids loved the "figolla' that was delivered to our room on Easter Sunday complimentary. Nice touch.
Thank you

A much needed break after winter in the U .k. My son Stephen and I were well looked after by the very pleasant staff. The Cornucopia won the 2013 award which is well deserved. I found the food very good with a well stocked wine cellar and some wonderful deserts. The special nights with music is very relaxing. Would advise to travel around by local bus system as it is very easy to use and you meet more helpful and pleasant people. We even hit 20* on March 19th. I would reccomend this place for a pleasant quiet holiday.

Room Tip: Bungalows look very nice with excellent views over a valley. And if you need less stairs there are...

Positives:
- nice and modern bathroom

Negatives:
- misleading with respect to the availability of free Wifi during booking. Wifi is available for free only in a common area not in the rooms as was expected.
- the receptionists that 'greeted' us upon arrival seemed to be a rather grumpy guy
- shoddy piping passing straight through the bedroom wardrobe!
- there was no way of going to the reception from our room without going through an open air area...and one night it was raining!
- the only source of natural light in the room is through the glass of the front door, which is directly in a passageway with people walking by. Pulling the curtains is therefore a must as otherwise there are just people walking in front of the bedroom. Then closing the curtains does not let any natural light in!
- the door and lock of the room appears to be very old and not secure at all

Dear Malteserer,
Thank you for finding the time to share your feedback with us. We are pleased to hear that you liked the new bathrooms. We are sorry to read though, that you think that we mislead you in any way regarding the WiFi. In all booking engines and in our own website it clearly says that WiFi is free only in lounge areas. Our Hotel is a converted farmhouse, and as by traditional design, access to most of the rooms is from the outside pool/court yard area. Again this clearly shows on our website.
While all points mentioned are noted, we understand and respect, that everyone has his perspective of things but none the less we do apologies for not meeting yours.
Kind regards

There are many good points about this hotel. Gozo is a beautiful island and the location of the hotel is a ten minute walk from the village centre. The staff are very attentive and go out of their way to serve and look after you needs. It was the bedroom and bathroom that spoiled the holiday. Tired and outdated and possibly the worst I've stayed in. The beds were awful, with a mattress protector that did not fit and rolled up during the night! The mattress was placed on a hard board so no give whatsoever. The stool at the dressing table had two sharp screws protruding through the fabric and the fixed hair dryer came apart when drying my hair. Paint was peeling from the bathroom mirror shelf and the floor flooded twice resulting in the most awful smell. This was reported but was not resolved. I believe it was looked at after we had checked out and was waiting for transport. So why did we put up with it? We had arrived in a heavy rain storm and unpacked quite quickly to find some warmer clothes, I had also heard some guests asking for an upgrade and paying additional charges ,didn't fancy paying extra for what was an expensive holiday.

Just returned and was extremely impressed with the setting, facilities and the friendliness of all the personel. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left it was simply perfect. Rooms are clean and spaciouse, they offer all the amenities of a 4 star hotel, airco, ceiling fan, refrigerator, hairdryer, bath, shower, balcony. Free wifi in the lobby and diningroom, we had room 70 and i could get a connection with my cellphone :)
As it was our honeymoon we received a complimentary bottle of local gozo wine, a nice touche.
Family friendly from what I saw. They offer also car rental at very reasonable prices. A true hotel with class and charm.
