Owner description: OPEN MONDAY - SUNDAY from 09.00 Till 17.00Hrs (last admission at 16.30Hrs). Ta' Kola Windmill in Xaghra, Gozo, is one of the few surviving windmills on the Maltese Islands dating back to the Knights' Period. Its origins go back to 1725 during the magistracy of Grand Master Manoel de Vilhena (1722-36). Nowadays, the windmill houses one of the largest known collections of tools, some of which were manufactured by the last miller who lived inside the mill. The site offers a glimpse into the traditional rural life of the locals during the past centuries.

One ticket gets you into both the temple and the windmill. The windmill is currently being refurbished. What they have done so far is interesting and shows how people lived in the windmills. Worth half an hour if in the area. Will be great when it is finished.

A original Maltese windmill, buid in limestone, from the 18th century, of which only a few remain on Malta and Gozo.
It houses now a mill museum as well as a folklore museum with different kind of tools and items from years past.

The mill is certainly worth a visit when in the neighbourhood, just a few hundred metres from the Ġgantija temples and near the town centre of Xaghra with the nice church.
Not accesable for wheelchairs.

The windmill is close to the Ggantija Temple complex on Gozo. The windmill is really just a little folk museum and part of it (the wheat grinding business bit) is currently out-of-bounds. Not worth a special visit.

The windmill was being worked on when we were there but it was a nice museum. It's a little small but nice.
