“Charming accommondation, with a good restaurant”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

We spend three night at this charming, familyrun hotel. They arranged activities like trufo hunting, vine tasting, cheese tasting. We did even some pasta baking.
We were with a group and we all enjoyed the hostbitality, the good food and the beautiful surroundings.

“Almost too much of a good thing.”

Everything is prepared fresh, from fresh ingredients, by people who know what they're doing. Huge portions.

“Outstanding food, accommodation”
Reviewed May 12, 2012

Marisa, owner of Al Vecchio Convento, made us most welcome after we arrived really late for lunch, due to getting soooo lost getting out of FLorence. Excellent food and lovely dining room. We looked at the accommodation, and only wished that we could have stayed the night. Lovely rooms, bathrooms, 15 in all. The medieval town is also lovely, offering cooking and language courses, with the Academy Olmo, whilst staying in the 18 Century Palazza Convento, or its Depenza. We shall return for a visit in this lovely Borgo.

“The true taste of Romagna”
Reviewed April 26, 2012

Great chef that revisits traditional dishes maintaining the true taste. They cook with fresh seasonal greens and meats only. Each season has its own tipical dishes and they are always "first class" both because of ingredients and of cooking ability. They also have a good selection of Roamgna wines, white, red, passito for accompanying dessert.
If you drink too much, they have rooms as well in the old palace of Beatrice Portinari, the historical fianceè of Dante Alighieri.
The village has also a well-kept medieval centre. Few kilometers up the SS67 to Florence, at Bocconi you can appreciate a Roman Bridge still in full strenght overlooking nice waterfall: in summer you can have a swim in the river "pool" .
