We found a nice local restaurant near Victoria. A little bit hidden behind a wall entering a nice terrace and garden. We were welcomed very warm and having a nice chat with the owning family. Family: this is how you feel there and we mean it the very best way. :) the food was delicious and all fresh made. Thanks for a perfect evening. We will always come back.

We have been in self-catering holiday accommodation in Gozo but this evening we decided to treat ourselves by venturing into Victoria (Rabat) for a nice meal out. Beforehand I skimmed through Trip Advisor reviews and as a result decided to try The Vinyard (sic).

We were not disappointed. Each element of the meal was delightful and our waiter - Joe - was discreetly attentive. Surprisingly, the restaurant was not thronging when we arrived without a reservation. We were given a complimentary Mediterranean platter to begin our feast. Then our simple starter was bruschetta. For the main course I had deliciously tender medallions of pork with homemade apple sauce and a medley of vegetables. My wife opted for the grilled chicken with salad and chips. I had a lovely fruit salad with ice cream for dessert and Joe brought us complimentary glasses of limoncello to round everything off. We had a bottle of mineral water, a pint of beer and a glass of local rose wine. In total the bill came to 43euros which we both agreed represented excellent value for money given the quality of the meal and the spacious pleasantness of the restaurant's environment.

A note to Trip Advisor - the current map location for this restaurant is inaccurate. The Vinyard is halfway between Mgarr and Victoria - not in the centre of Victoria itself.

We enjoyed a fabulous two week holiday during April/May 2013 on Gozo. Had a wonderful time and ate out at some fabulous restaurants one of which was the Vinyard. We called in to book a meal on recommendation and they opened specially for us (we were with friends) as it was my husband's birthday on a day when they would normally be closed. Nothing was too much trouble. The freshly caught local fish that was brought out on a platter was magnificent. An excellent menu of food and wine extremely well cooked very well presented full of flavour and a place that I dearly hope to be able to visit again in the future. All the best to this lovely friendly family run business for the future prosperity and growth of the restaurant.

We had driven past the Vinyard on our way into Gozo a week ago. As it was our last night we decided to dine here for our farewell meal. We are now kicking ourselves for not trying this place out sooner!!!

Our host was the friendliest guy that we came across on our weeks stay and we have eaten out every night! The menu was varied and reasonably priced and when we came to order we were not dissapointed.

As a complimentary dish we were presented with a selection of cold meats, the most delightful pickles and a mix of garlic bread and bruschetta. This was followed by the smoked salmon starter for myself and the garlic mushrooms for my partner. The dishes were amazingly tasty and the portions were huge!!

I then had the King prawns flambe'd in cognac and my partner the Full Rack of BBQ ribs. Neither of us thought we had room for main course but the quality of food was superb so compliments to the chef, he did a sterling job!! I have posted pictures so you can see for yourselves.

All in all our favourite dining experience and would definitely recommend if you were thinking of dining here. Just gutted we didn't come here sooner!! :o)

After reading the good comments here we decided to visit this restaurant looking for some good experience. However the dinner was such a disappointment. Free starters were very cheap prosciutto and cheese, sea food salad was made with frozen small seafood and main courses weren't really well cocked. At least the staff was very friendly.
