Just had Christmas lunch at Patrick's..have not been there for many years due to one thing and another, and was so happy to have the chance to eat there on Christmas Day.Boy, does Patrick know how to create a scene to make you smile and feel all warm in side. His restaurant was beautifully 'trimmed'.the lighting was perfect, so everyone looked 'fab' and the centre piece Christmas tree in the middle of the restaurant was truly beautiful
.Everything was perfect, Michael Buble singing in background, candles, the waitresses and waiters looked the part with tasteful 'Santa hats'..crackers on the table.....little touches that meant so much to us..now to the food!
We had no idea if it was going to be a 'set menu' or not,and as it turned out, we had a 'special's menu' plus the full a la carte, which was great.....turkey was on the menu for those who wanted it, but we went for samosas to start, followed by a ribeye steak and vegetables.
Lovely nibbles and bread to eat before the starter, and a nice bottle of bubbly hit the spot.
Starter was delicious, as was the steak, a good sized portion, perfectly cooked and it melted in your mouth.Vegetables were 'al dente' and the roasted potatoes were crispy. The presentation was gorgeous and we loved the fact that they give you plenty of time between courses, this comes as standard..no need to say 'don't rush '
Crackers pulled, we went for dessert of creme brulee and lemon tart with cream.
Heaven on a plate!
We spent 3 very enjoyable hours here, being well looked after and definitely feeling that today was Christmas day, spent with strangers, but feeling like everyone was a friend. What more can you ask.
Cannot fault a thing. Will be back before next Christmas for sure.Thank you to everyone who made this the 'perfect day'
