“Most Enjoyable Meal of Israel Trip”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

This restaurant overlooks the "shepherds fields" near Bethlehem. This is where it is said the angels visited the shepherds to proclaim Jesus' birth. We had lunch here before visiting Bethlehem. It was very enjoyable. The setting is wonderful. The food was plentiful and outstanding. The service was also great.

“Excellent Food, Ambiance and Service”
Reviewed July 19, 2013

We had lunch in Grotto restaurant when i was in Bethlehem with a pilgrimage group from India. The restaurant is huge with a very traditional setting. The food was awesome, with a wide variety of salads, kebabs and good choice of breads. The mint lemon juice was also excellent. Mr. Mario, the owner of the hotel is very friendly and meets all the guests and looks after very well. The barbecue platter is a specialty and is worth trying. I am sure, I will be visiting Grotto restaurant in my next visit to Bethlehem.

“Great service, Fresh & huge variety of Salads”
Reviewed July 16, 2013

One of the best oriental restaurants I ever tried.

As an Israeli Incoming tour operator I always include lunch there for groups I wish to impress without crossing my budget. Mario the owner as well all staff are doing great job both regarding hospitality & quality of the dishes... BIG LIKE!

“A fabulous spread of delicious food!”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

Our final evening in the Holy Land was in Bethlehem at The Grotto. Our group of 30 here from Houston TX enjoyed a feast of many "salads" as well as the BEST lamb sausage and chicken kabobs ever! Some fruit of the grape was also well-enjoyed. It's a large restaurant, excellent for groups, near Shepherd's Field. So comfortable, great service too. Since this was with a group, I don't know what the cost was, but the wine was $15 for a nice bottle.

“Best Choice in Beit Sahour”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

Good Chicken livers. I really don't like Middle East food, just can't get used to it. But that isn't the restaurant fault. I rated the place excellent due to the location, history of the building, quality, and service.
