“DELIGHTFUL”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 6, 2011

The delights began with the welcoming reception by Gwenaelle with a 'pitcher' of cool white wine and tasty snacks by the pool. Up the beautiful staircase past wonderful old timber work to a truly magnificent bedroom all lovingly restored with exquisite taste by this charming young couple. Breakfast was not only the usual coffee, croissant and fruit but delicious homemade walnut bread with a selection of equally delicious homemade preserves. Everything had been thought about and we wanted for nothing and we cannot praise Paul and Gwenaelle too highly. Our only regret was that we had only booked in for the one night- next time we will stay longer. Paul and Emer

Spent 3 nights at Maison Joséphine. The house, the decor and the hosts were all wonderful.

It's not located in the most spectacular village but if you feel like visiting it's perfect. You are 25 km from Toulouse and 60 from Carcassone. We visited both and they are worth it. Also you are a bike ride away from the Canal du midi. You can rent bikes also on site.

The rooms that were given to us were wonderful. One large room with queen size and single bed with a large bathroom (en-suite). The other room was a connecting two bedroom with a large en-suite. All rooms are tastefully decorated with a lot of old charm. If possible, visit the coca cola room...

We had breakfast and dinner at the "bed and breakfast". Everything was extra good. Since we were there for new year's celebrations, the menu was more festive. But regular customers seemed to enjoy their every day food as well.

But what makes this place so special are the hosts. They made us feel like home. It was like spending a few days with old friends.

All in all, I recommend this place without any doubt. Families will especially enjoy themselves I think. If you are looking for amenities found in a hotel this is not for you. If you are looking for warmth and personal touches, this is definitely the place.

Great location between Touluse and Carcasonne, making day trips easy and stress free. Also great for cycling some of the canal du midi (bikes for hire from the house too!) .
We stayed 7 nights in the modern Gite. Plenty of room for us and our 2 young children. The main bedroom is en suite with air conditioning and looked out over the pretty pool area. We also had stair gates, toys, a bath tub and a cot which made things a whole lot easier travelling with 2 small kids.
A fab fully fitted kitchen, though the bakery next door and the 4 course meal with wine, we availed of each night with the guests in the main house, meant we didn't use the kitchen much ! : )
The food served was home made and delicious. The chat around the table was great and the wine was yummy.
A relaxing break, child safe and friendly. Outside dining, a gorgeous pool, swings for the kids. Ideal location with english speaking hosts, who made every effort to please and help us.
A little gem, that we will revisit without a doubt.

We stayed a full week in the Gite and we had a fantastic stay! The gite is amazing and was perfect for us as we were traveling with our 1 year old son. Having a full kitchen, bathtub and even baby toys was great for us. The owners are great and even installed a baby gate in front of the stairs for us so the baby couldn't fall down the stairs. There was also a play pen and several toys that we were able to use for our son.

The location is great, right between Toulouse and Carcarssonne. We were there to catch several stages of Le Tour de France and it was perfect. We were able to catch several stages, either the start, finish or mountain side viewing. All the stages were between 20 minutes to 2 hours away and having a great temporary home to come back to every night made it a great trip.

The only complaints I could have was there was no air-conditioning and in July it tends to get very hot. However, the owners were installing it while we were there. Considering we don't have AC at home it didn't bother us too much and we didn't mind them waiting till after we left to finish the installation. The bed in the master room is quite hard, which my husband loved, but I found it a little hard to sleep on.

I booked 3 nights accommadation at Maison Josephine after having read several very good reviews on Trip Advisor, and was not disappointed. This guest house is an absolute gem. The hosts were very welcoming and went out of their way to make me comfortable. They even put a load of washing through the machine for me and got in some special milk for me to have while I was there, and all at no extra charge. The house itself was very charming, I got to stay in 2 of the rooms, each having its own unique character. The evening meals were excellent. Served outside in the garden, they were a real affair, all home cooked using local produce, served with style and panache.

This was our third chambres d'hotes of our tour around France and as the other two had been great we were a bit nervous that we wouldn't be so lucky again but we needn't have worried. After a very warm welcome from Paul and Gwen we were given a guided tour and shown our room. The house is a lovely very old French townhouse with huge rooms and loads of character and we were very pleased with the huge room and bathroom we were given. Okay, so it does have creaky floorboards and is very rustic but we loved it. Everything was spotless and the bedlinen was beautifully laundered and smelt lovely.
Breakfast is served in the large dining-room and is the usual continental but with a great selection of bread, croissants, cereals, tea, coffee, orange juice and fruit. Gwen's home-made jam is delicious. We took the evening meal there twice and both meals were lovely
and the company and chat sitting outside was great. You are told to feel at home and it is not difficult to do. Pool and pool area great to laze about at. We hired the bikes for a morning and cycled along the canal du midi which was great fun. If you go far enough you come to an autoroute service area which also services the canal and you can eat there either in the restaurant or cafe or there are picnic areas. Carcassonne is a must and Toulouse good for sightseeing, shopping and restaurants. All in all a great place to stay, very friendly hosts and good food. Highly recommend. Thanks Paul and Gwen.

Found this wonderful chambre d'hôte by chance. Accommodation great - very comfortable sleep! Owners so friendly - can't do enough for you. Really good position - between Carcassonne and Toulouse. You must book evening meal there. Great food, service and atmosphere. We'll definitely stop there next year. On a hot day the pool is most welcoming.
