Anita and I were wondering what to do on this glorious Winter's day... Hinze dam was our chosen venue and the easy walk along the dam wall was just so nice, not many people ventured much beyond the short concreted path, we walked to the end. What amazed us was that there were so few people there.
The 'View Cafe' has just re-opened in recent months and although slightly more expensive than one would hope, the food choice was excellent. The quality and quantity also looked good, the coffee was also good albeit not as hot as it should have been.
My only criticism was my 'Chunky Steak Pie' was seriously devoid of it's 'chunky steak' only containing four small pieces of meat and lots of gravy. When commenting to the staff on this, apologies were not immediately forthcoming, instead a comment like 'we don't fill the pies' didn't really address the problem. May I suggest that the staff of View Cafe monitor the quality of bought in pies and look at changing their supplier... (there are LOTS of good pie makers in the area).
We will most certainly visit here again and recommend to anyone passing or curious that they make the trip to see this spectacular place.
