“The little magic show that does - Bethany Beach, Delaware”

Rich Bloch and his wife has taken nothing and made something wonderful out of it. A lawyer and professional magician, Rich has converted a large garage and nearby house into a tasteful magician's theater setting for kids from 1 to 92. He has attracted quality magicians from all over to perform for the local audience and occasionally Rich performs himself. The adjacent coffee house offers after show refreshments.

We have been most impressed by the quality of multiple performances. Seating is good and since there is no place to hide, those afraid of magic applying to them personally should stay away!

A must stop for kids if you are in the Southern Delaware area, and the price is very reasonable. you won't be disappointed! SEE http://www.dptmagic.com/

Great experience - Will Fern is a fantastic performer & the "finale" was awesome! Would go back again to catch a show in the theater. Cocktails available for purchase.

We visited the Dickens Parlour Theater for a family fun night.
We were not disappointed at all! In fact, our experience was spurelative.

We enjoyed Dave Cox who came all the way from CA for a week.
The show was engaging, very funny, action packed, and the parlour illusions were expertly mezmerizing! All but two of our six person family got a chance to participate in this intimate theater setting. Mr. Cox really knew how to engage with the audience and made the whole room feel involved. The show was a standard 45 to 60 minute show (ours was a good hour), and had a number of great illusions packed expertly together. Fun and impressive are the two best words for this show.

Mr. Bloch, the owner, also did a small bit in the middle as Mr. Cox did a costume change, so the time was always filled with attention grabbing fun.

After the show, we went over to the Parlour for sumptuous desserts, coffee and soda. (They also serve grown up beverages too.). While we were there, Mr. Cox came over. We were entertained by Mr. Bloch, Mr. Cox and two other folks who each did a couple of table side magic tricks. What a wonderful cap to the evening! Oh! Mr. Bloch invited our family group to a secret room where he had my son enter a neat telephone booth like chamber and we watched my son literally fade away and dematerialize before our eyes. To his mothers delight he had rematerialized outside the secret room as we left it to re-enter the parlour.

This was a wonderful evening. Great falue and tons of fun!

Best if you get your tickets early (I preordered a week earlier)! This delightful secret is becoming "exposed" quickly!

Being an illusionist myself, I was impressed that Dickens performers do really quality illusions and are all well known, top performers. While I haven't heard of David Copperfield there (yet), the folks that do perform there are internationally known and respected as first rate magicians. I may have known the secrets, but I was still mezmerized.

Dickens Parlour Theater is a class act and a fantastic way to spend an evening as a couple or as a family. And it's proof that magic can be fun, entertaining and enjoyable for all age groups without being just a "kid" thing or overly adult themed. This was magic at it's best.

Expect a great time here - and enjoy some first rate wonder at the beach!

(I understand that on rainy days, the theater has special family matinees.)

This is a small intimate theatre about three miles West of Bethany Beach, Delaware, on Route 26. Each week, they have different magicians perform in the 50 seat theatre. Not a bad seat in the house. The family friendly show lasts about one hour to one and a half hours.
The show that we attended was performed by Will Fern (www.willfern.com) who has performed all over the world. His slight of hand tricks were excellent. There is a great deal of humor and audience participation. Well worth the $20 (adult) ticket price. On Saturday afternoon they have a children's magic show.

In addition to the Magic shows they also they have film festivals and concerts.

They offer dinner (additional cost) before the show and dessert and adult beverages after the show.

My family travels with another family to Bethany Beach every year and for the past 2 years we have visited Dickens Parlour Theatre, and it's great. It is a very small theater, only 50 seats, but the magicians they attract are fantastic.

The theater is technically a few miles outside of Bethany, but it is essentially in Bethany.

They do a fantastic job with the show, and then afterwards the magician will visit the desert parlour after the show and will do magic at your table.

The kids in our group ranging from 5-9 LOVE the show. It is really well done.

Book your tickets in advance as they could very easily sell out.
