Hotel Dyrholaey is a great base for visiting the south coast of Iceland, we stayed in February and were the only guests. Its a stunning setting up on a hillside overlooking the sea. They are currently in the process of adding extra rooms but this was not a problem when we stayed. Definitely worth staying for dinner the fish soup, cod and lamb are to be recommended. It's not a 5 star luxury hotel, but doesn't pretend to be!! We'll be back in the Summer!

This hotel takes it's name from an "island" on the southes part of Iceland "Dyrholaey" which is a must see. The wiew there to the Atlantic Ocean is unbelievable. The hotel is first of all very clean and friendly. Food is exelant and staff is very helpful and always ready to assist in any way. I've been there several times on my travel and I will come again.... and again.
Enjoy the extream fresh air, blue sky, clear views and ..... the wet rain :)

The hotel was located on a hillock and the view of the North Atlantic Ocean was simply superb, and the hotel owner was very friendly and approachable and our actual stay was for 1 night, though we extended by another night as it was an awesome experience. Nice breakfast and a very good spread. Nice compact twin rooms and very clean and hygienic.

Room Tip: Take a glacier view room

We stayed here one night as part of our southern coast self-drive tour. The hotel was great, the room was clean, we had free wireless and a good breakfast. Not many places to stay around Vik, but I'm sure this was the best! We opted to have dinner in town on a cold and rainy night ... it was magical!

Have stayed here before and am quite happy with service, hotel and standard of food. No, it isn't top notch, but you aren't paying top price either! This time the room was clean and spacious. Bathroom excellent. Area is quiet and the views phenomenal! Staff work hard as there can be a lot of people in if there are several busloads staying. The food we had was very good indeed. Would be very happy to stay here again.
