The Volcano hotel was comfortable. Comfortable beds and shower. The room was large , clean and comfortably heated.
The included breakfast buffet had cut up vegetables, cheeses, bread assortment, hot cereal, hard boiled eggs and the option to have scrambled or fried eggs made fresh. Coffee machine provided different coffee choices. It is set up in a large room.

Be prepared to bring your own shampoo and conditioner as only soap is provided. Not unusual as we found in our travels.

We did have some difficulty coming back to the Volcano on the way back from Vik as it was dark and the sign was difficult to see. Our only negative.

This is a small, personal hotel in a great location 14km east of Vik.
There is no restaurant but it is an easy drive back into Vik. There is a great lounge/bar/dining area with a large tv showing a slideshow of amazing photos of Iceland and a great library of Iceland books to delve into.
Our room was great and had its own door to the car park.
We were amazingly lucky and had a stunning display of the aurora in the evening including the rare purples. It was a fantastic place to see the aurora with no light pollution and masses of stars.
Unforgettable experience and thank you so much to our fellow guests for knocking on our door to tell us about the aurora!

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Volcano Hotel. Our family of 5 (3 kids) were comfortable in their largest room -- with plenty of space to spread out. The young man and lady who help to run the hotel were so wonderfully sweet, friendly, and helpful. They even knocked on our door one night to let us now that the Northern Lights were out! The breakfast is yummy -- those cooked to order eggs were delicious! We would highly recommend this family run hotel to everyone!

The hotel did the job, provided somewhere to stay for the night. Had to go back into Vik for food which was disappointing as it meant we couldn't fully relax until after we'd eaten. Breakfast was good, prepare to fight for the waffles as they fly off the table haha
Overpriced for what was on offer, but good for a one or two night stop over.
