“absolutely yummy!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 2, 2013

Recommended to us by a driver from the Bus Teminal, this place is purely Icelandic. That is the biggest attraction! The seafood is creamy and sublime and their french onion soup was a delight with a traditional twist! All the waitresses were very dutiful and always coming to check on us. Its not even located on the main touristic street, which makes it even more attractive..

“Smoked puffin”

... is awesome. Besides, the horse steak tastes really tender and delicious. The grilled halibut with lobster and lobster sauce is nice

“Awesome food (ie: the most suitably salted food in Reykjavik)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2013

Loved the food so much we went twice for dinner within our 5 day trip :)
Recommended dishes: horse tenderloin, grilled halibut(fish may change) with lobster and lobster sauce, hashed fish :) Also, as mentioned, the soups were not overly salted as in other restaurants, perhaps of the cream?
The waiter and waitress that served us were really nice...

“Delicious ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013 via mobile

A cab driver told us about this little gem. We booked as a few people had said it was really busy.

OMG THIS PLACE IS AMAZING.

We wanted something we wouldn't be able to eat back home and mission accomplished! Our starter was shark (not nice but glad I tried) smoked puffin (really nice but I would of liked it warmed up) and our main meals horse and whale (these were the best steaks iv ever eaten) the presentation the taste every thing about this meal was delicious (except the shark!!)

“Unique dishes and homely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

This restaurant is hidden away in a residential area but only about a 10 minute walk away from the main street and definitely worth the walk. It has a really warm homely feel to it and not as touristy as some of the restaurants in Reykjavik. Really great traditional Icelandic meat and fish dishes and very generous portions. The service was very attentive. Would certainly go back.
