Nice Local place. Authentic Icelandic food. Get out of the box and try the different meals. Had the horse...yes horse and it was awesome! Also, the whale was good ( sorry green peace). The Article Char was off the charts good! The shark...you'll just have to see for yourself. Lol

This was a great local restaurant a little outside of the main streets and definitely worth it. There was a slight wait late on a Saturday, but nothing more than 10 minutes. We really came here to try some of the native food that Iceland's known for, and luckily it was all on the menu. The puffin appetizer tastes like some sort of smoked sushi/jerky and was interesting. My main of horse steak was excellent, served with potatoes and vegetables. I also tried the peppered whale steak, which was way too big of a portion and wasn't as good as I'd hoped. Service was friendly and all in all this is a great place to try the indigenous foods without breaking the bank.

We ate here as we were staying at Guesthouse Odinn - it's just down the street. Busy and prompt service. I had smoked puffin breast for entree and horse steak for main course. Puffin breast came as a gravlax style with bread, whilst the horse had pepper sauce. Both delicious. My partner had less luck with the seafood soup and the fish of the day, which was a mornay style. They were fine but involved rich sauces and the flavour was nothing out of the ordinary. Overall a good experience if a bit on the expensive end.

Recommended by locals, we ventured here. Food was delicious! We're told locals don't teat whale or Puffins, but love the horse steaks. Had the Black Death aperitif. Passed on the dirty shark and loved the horse meat.

Delightful!
