This was our first stop before getting in to the city. There is a revolving restaurant at the top and then you can also get a view of the city. I don't think the view here is as good as the one you will get from Hallgrímskirkja (the church in town), but this place is free to walk around and see the view and worth your time. They have a snack bar as well as the more upscale restaurant and outside they have some cute sculptures. It was a nice place to get out and walk around after our drive from Vik.

Perlan rolves every two hours on top of the thermal water tanks that heat the citygiving an excellent view of thetown and surroundings, especially when the sun sets. WE had the 4 course special menu without the glass of wine with each course and the price was reduced to Kr 7,390 which is excellent value for fine dining in very pleasant surroundings. There is a comfortable bar above the restaurant for pre dinner drinks which ensures plenty of time to complete a loop. Perlan is situated slightly out of the centre but is well worth the journey for a memorable evening

We hiked up the hill from Natura Hotel. Nice walking paths but icy in March. Revolving restaraunt at top has amazing night views of the city. Service and food were excellent. Recommend the 5 course meal with wine pairings.

The real reason for visiting here is for the amazing views, where it is also possible to walk outside. I stopped off as part of a tour of the city and had the time to have a quick bite to eat too. I had delicious soup (seems to have been a bit of a theme during my stay!) and a coffee.

There was also quite a good selection of light meals and snacks, served canteen style.

Worth a trip on a clear day.

We knew it would be a tourist trap and it was. The food was good, not great. The service just acceptable. We had a waiter in training who was as nervous as could be. The men were served before the women???? Seriously? I know everyone has to start somewhere but he should have been taught a bit more before they let him loose!

My advice? Go there... Perhaps, have a cocktail at the Perlan and take pix from the terrace which is a floor below. It is a great vantage point and then leave and go into town and eat at Sjavargrillid a.k.a. Seafood Grill. The menu is more diverse and the food is far superior. Their lobster is amazing!!!
