“First class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

I really don't understand the negative reviews - saying the food is tasteless is simply rubbish. The service was impeccable as was the food. We ate in a number of restaurants in Reykjavik during our stay and the cost/quality at the Pearl was better than any other we went to. It was throwing down the rain when we went but still had a lovely view over the city. We simply cannot agree with the negativity expressed elsewhere and would recommend it most heartily to anyone who is looking for a decent evening out. Other reputable restaurants we went to were either noisy, expensive, poor quality or simply not up to scratch. The Pearl is the best as far as we are concerned. Yes, you have to pay for a decent meal but it is not VERY VERY expensive - we have paid more for less in plenty of other restaurants. Go there but don't expect 5 star food for 2 star prices.

“A true "Gem"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2013

The Pearl, or "perlan" is an old water tower that is converted into a large open space suitable for events, or just peace. The upstairs is a rotating glassed-in dome that is a restaurant. It is wonderful food, but taKe your extra credit card...it's very, very expensive. WORTH IT, but expensive! Also in the PErlan is the 'saga museum' which is very interesting.

“Over-Rated”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

The view is very nice. And that's all of positive things you could say about that place.

Staff doesn't bother with getting to you. Food is tasteless. You just don't want to go there.

“Great view of city combined with good food and good service, albeit expensive.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

Was terrible weather when we went for dinner although a great view of the city lights while revolving around and eating a 4 course pre-selected menu. We enjoyed the meal and good portion size, although we felt the price was overly inflated for the view. We have been to several revolving restaurants around the world and this was the worst value for money. Service was worth a mention.

“Amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

We went here to celebrate our engagement and we were very impressed. The restaurant is beautiful with the glass roof and amazing views, and having a real pianist playing sets the scene perfectly. The service was very good and friendly, food was very well presented and very tasty. We were very impressed with the extra touches such as getting little chocolates and cakes when you order coffee, small things that make a difference. We were very happy with the price of the meal, which was not extortionate all things considered.

There is not one bad thing I can say about our experience here and it was definitely a night to remember. I would recommend this restaurant for something extra special!
