“Nice atmosphere, good location”

Club sandwich and geyser burgar ordered! Service was prompt even though large groups of tables were also eating that night! Reasonable prices! Lovely window seat to watch the snow fall :)

“Outstanding fresh catch at better price than most similar fare in Reykjavik”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

We didn't know what the catch of day "link" would be like, so one of us ordered fish & chips (cod). Both were excellent. The salad served with fish & chips was a welcome sight and had bits of feta throughout. Plentiful portion of both fish & chips.

“Lambtastic not!!!”
Reviewed March 4, 2014

Visited on our last night as our choice of restaurant was closed. It was obviously a busy service and a large party in.
However accommodated us, we were the first of 3 couples to be seated but for some reason the last to have order taken !
Couple at the side of us ordered pasta dishes and waited over an hour!! They were offered a drink as compensation.
Our starters came quiet quick but only soup and garlic bread so can't mess up too much.
After a wait of almost 40 mins which we had no problem with the mains arrived.
Lamb fillet well cooked but the lamb skewer was almost raw and not just one piece but all.
I called waitress over and she agreed not medium as i was informed it would be cooked. Offered to have re cooked but by this time not prepared to wait another 40 mins so waited for my partner to finish his meal and left.
When paying the head waitress made an off the cuff comment about not been happy with the lamb and said would take off bill - was this compensation?
My partner asked about them taking off the charge for the drinks which the waitress agreed.
Not the best eating experience having already been to 3 fantastic restaurants.

“Salt Cod we had to have twice”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

A nice little restaurant in the heart of Reykjavik. However, once you order the salt cod, you stop caring about the venue and become total focused on savouring every single bite, and then you get that horrible emptiness after you finish off the entire plate and are left with just a memory of the best fish dish you have ever eaten.

Having spent a fair chunk of 2013 visiting different continents, we decided to spend a long weekend in Reykjavik. Having no real preconceived expectations, and having 2 days to plan, I can happily say that Reykjavik surprised us with its variety of food, and its great fresh fish dishes. However this plate really has stood out as not only the best dish on that trip, but the best fish dish we have ever eaten.

Whilst I would recommend visiting a range of restaurants, do make sure you go in for a lunch at Geysir for this dish.....and then you should also make sure you have time for a second visit so you can have it again.

“Good food slow service”
Reviewed March 1, 2014 via mobile

Stopped off at this restaurant on a Saturday evening. Table for four, enjoyed the food a lot but service was a bit slow and disorganised, served by about five different staff members.
