“Consistently good with nice lunch deal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

Fairly priced (by Icelandic standards) with a modern cosy atmosphere and good food. The lunch specials are particularly good value, with two courses and a hot drink for less that the price of a regular main course. The plaice lunch special was outstanding when we visited last week (our third visit over a couple of years). Also good is the house wine, which is standard price for the area but comes in a 250ml portion rather than the small glass at most other bars, Well worth a visit.

“Lovely atmosphere, good food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2013

This is not far from the harbour, where there are several restaurants. We liked the look of it because it didn't look too posh or expensive! By Icelandic standards it was reasonably priced! The main eating area is upstairs and has a lot of wood in the decor. It was comfortable, with a nice atmosphere. We chose the monkfish, which was the fish of the day, the first time we'd had it as it is very expensive in England, and it was lovely, in a sauce served with mashed potato and veg. The young lady waitress was very nice and helpful and made us feel at home. It is right next door to the tourist info office as well, so we picked up some more maps and info before visiting the harbour.

“Not bad late at night”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2013

Geysir Bistro was only one of a few restaurants open in the city when we arrived and it was one of the cheaper options. I ate alfredo, which was one of the best meals I had in Scandinavia and my husband had a catfish dish, which was okay. The service was decent - we had to wait a long time to be seated, however, and I was overcharged for my meal (the waitress was friendly and adjusted the bill). I would recommend visiting this restaurant.

“Fab lunch !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 13, 2013

We had just come off the sight seeing whale trip & were frozen so wanted somewhere warm to eat & relax. We came across this little gem the day before while booking our trip & it looked lovely inside. So glad we did as it was first class, the lady who served us was very pleasant & friendly, the atmosphere was nice & quite busy for the time of day.We both opted for a burger with different flavours, they were delicious & very filling. With 2 glasses of wine our bill was very reasonable.Highly recommend !
