Stayed at this hotel for three nights as part of a package holiday, very well located, just off the main high street, and quick and easy to get to the coach stop for our day tours of Iceland, lots of shops and restaurants near by and also a supermarket for buying milk and snacks etc. Our room was booked for three adults which was great, our experience on booking our holiday was that not many other hotels offered triple rooms. Our room had grey painted walls and dark wooden flooring, it was dark and moody, had great lighting, I really liked the room it felt slightly different from other hotel rooms that I had stayed in, and I mean this in a very positive way, There was a kettle in the room but no fridge, which was a shame, bathroom was nice and clean, there was not a bath, just a shower, all perfectly ok. One thing about the room, there was not much hanging space for clothes, even if it had been just for two people I feel this would still be a little Issue. Breakfast was good, hot food, and drinks, bacon, scrambled eggs, salmon, beans etc, lovely bread, cereals, Icelandic yoghurt, pastries, cereal, lots to choose from. Staff at the front deck were excellent, spoke very good English, were very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. There was a little bar, that had happy hour from I think about 4pm for two or three hours! which was good as alcohol is extremely expensive, as is Iceland generally, All in all we had a great stay at Skuggi Hotel and I would highly recommend it to fellow travellers.
