We have stayed here before previously in 2017. Good hotel so we returned again this holiday and once we've travelled round the next 10 days will be returning for a final two nights.

Friendly staff who are always there to help with any questions/queries. When we stayed in 2017 the room was a bit small, this time we stayed in a bigger room so I think it depends where in the building you are.

Rooms are equipped well, they have kettle, tea, hot chocolate etc. They also have a hair dryer which is really useful.

Personally found the rooms a bit hot, my mum was fine with the room temperature however I found it way to hot overnight as I like the rooms to be cold. Being Iceland they do need to have the heating on though!

Breakfast really good. Lots of variety and not overcrowding.

The hotel is 2 min away from the main shopping street, has loads of cafes, restaurants, shops right on its doorsteps. Great hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in early May. We were very pleased with the location and the expansive breakfast buffet with a vast assortment of foods sure to please everyone. The hotel was within easy walking distance of downtown and the Old Harbour. The rooms were modern and clean. The breakfast room was very busy each day but seating was always available. .

We stayed for 1 night to view Reykjavik before flyig home. The hotel was well situated and had free car parking facilities. The room was reasonably sized and had everything we needed. Breakfast was satisfactory with a range of continental and english breakfast offerings.

Stayed at this hotel for three nights as part of a package holiday, very well located, just off the main high street, and quick and easy to get to the coach stop for our day tours of Iceland, lots of shops and restaurants near by and also a supermarket for buying milk and snacks etc. Our room was booked for three adults which was great, our experience on booking our holiday was that not many other hotels offered triple rooms. Our room had grey painted walls and dark wooden flooring, it was dark and moody, had great lighting, I really liked the room it felt slightly different from other hotel rooms that I had stayed in, and I mean this in a very positive way, There was a kettle in the room but no fridge, which was a shame, bathroom was nice and clean, there was not a bath, just a shower, all perfectly ok. One thing about the room, there was not much hanging space for clothes, even if it had been just for two people I feel this would still be a little Issue. Breakfast was good, hot food, and drinks, bacon, scrambled eggs, salmon, beans etc, lovely bread, cereals, Icelandic yoghurt, pastries, cereal, lots to choose from. Staff at the front deck were excellent, spoke very good English, were very helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. There was a little bar, that had happy hour from I think about 4pm for two or three hours! which was good as alcohol is extremely expensive, as is Iceland generally, All in all we had a great stay at Skuggi Hotel and I would highly recommend it to fellow travellers.

With parking lot inside garage (important! Raining is frequent in Iceland). Friendly staff, spacious. Funny quotes on wall. Exceptionally great breakfast with choices. Good location, Close to sightseeing spot (the church, town centre). Close to seaside, quite a view with 3-4 min walk.
