So I found this restaurant in Reykjavík and couldn’t believe that there’s a Pakistani restaurant here. I went here and order chicken karhai dish with delicious naan bread and lamb biryani dish (for take out) also had tea. The place and food was amazing with great portions that I couldn’t finish. They have an extensive menu of dishes. It was surprisingly to find a great quality south Asian Pakistani restaurant, The staff is professional, friendly and outstanding. I would strongly recommend checking this restaurant out and enjoy!!!

After a week of eating fish for dinner, we were looking for a change. Shalimar provided that difference we were looking for. Smaller restaurant conveniently located downtown (a 3 minutes walk from hotels like Radisson Blu and Hilton Konsulat). Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Once we identified a gluten allergy for a member of our party, the chef came out himself to discuss ingredients and I enjoyed a tasty, gluten-free dinner. Tiki masala tasted a bit different than I’ve had at other Indian restaurants in the U.S. but this was prepared in line with the Pakistani recipe (not a surprise…waiter was upfront about it when we ordered). Prices in this area are very high, so I would call this an affordable option in downtown (more than I would expect elsewhere but not bad for Reykjavík prices).

Food was so good and so fresh. My 11 year old finished his plate and actually asked if we could eat here again the next day. Veg options great and meat options equally as good. Service was great too.

My wife and I thought we would try this restaurant, a short distance from our hotel and I honestly cannot praise it enough! The food is of the very highest quality and the best of this type we've ever tasted, freshly cooked to order as we had a drink and starter. The staff are are very courteous and considerate, in a very warm and pleasant surrounding, without doubt this is one of the finest restaurants in Rekyjavik and I highly recommend it!
