My wife and I had been in Iceland for more than two weeks and our final stops was to spend a few days in Reykjavik. We did not expect to find such a little gem towards the end of what had been a wonderful the trip.
Forsæla apartments are in a well-maintained Victorian era house, but what comes through is the love Hlin and Siggi put into it. And it goes beyond the house and the apartments, and that’s because they are professionals in the best sense of the word and because they love Iceland and sharing their knowledge and hospitality.
When we arrived, we were running out of clean clothes and needed to have a few items washed to last us the last few days. Hlin went above and beyond our expectations when she just took the items and washed and folded them for us. It’s touches like this that make staying with them at Forsæla feel more like being welcomed like honored guests and not as another tourist.
While they welcomed us like their personal guests, but it did not feel constricting or weird, it felt warm and caring.
Our apartment was cozy, clean, tasteful, quiet and comfortable, a perfect launching pad to explore the city.
Oh, and breakfast is homemade and delicious! Loved the little broccoli and cheese toast .More
