stayed for a week, end of June. an excellent place to stay on all counts, friendly helpful staff, spotlessly clean, breakfast good, and central location. great value for money, would thoroughly recommend

Room Tip: just speak to the owner, Magnus, giving your requirements and he will try to find the best location...

I stayed at Snorri's for three nights with my husband and found it was an excellent guesthouse. We arrived from the airport late at night and Magnus was there to greet us. Our room was clean and comfortable, though if you are tall you might want to request a room which isn't on the top floor as we had sloping ceilings! The shower is in the basement but there toilets are on each floor and we had a sink in our room and everything is very clean. Breakfast was the best we had in Iceland. Finally the location is very convenient - a short walk to Hallgrimskrikja. Snorri's is also on a bus route and there is free on street parking so useful if you are hiring a car. All in all we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Some rooms (top floor) have sloping ceilings so if you don't like them request a room without!

If IKEA were to open a bed and breakfast, it would look a whole lot like this place! Smart and functional, this place did everything right. Super clean and incredibly friendly and helpful staff... Gave good and honest advice on navigating the many Iceland tours and whatnot. Typical good and healthy breakfast and free wifi. Our room was big and warm (good thing!). It's you can see the main big church from the front porch, so it's not far away from the heart of the city... maybe an extra block or two, but it's nice to get out of sometimes loud city scene.

I've recently returned from a one-week stay at Iceland's Snorri's with friends. We had a fantastic stay. We were often greeted and welcomed when we returned from the day's activities. The guesthoues' (i'm guessing owner) Magnus was very helpful and so friendly. We felt quite comfortable as the rooms are all cozy, clean, and the way the light shines through the windows in the morning was just beautiful. Every morning between 8-9am, breakfast is offered down the stairs, consisting of fresh juice, cheese, and hot breads. I'm 19 and I was with another family. We all felt very comfortable and at-home at Snorri's, feeling free to leave the doors unlocked or walk around with ease. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay thanks to the lovely accommodations and friendly staff. I very much wish to return to Snorri's at some point in the future.

Room Tip: As we were staying in 3 separate rooms, I got the chance to see how other rooms varied from my own...

Hi all,

I am new to trip advisor but I recently used it to plan a European adventure and wanted to give some feedback on the good and bad.

My wife and I stayed at Snorri's Guesthouse a little while back on our trip through exotic Iceland. Overall this part of the trip was very good despite 4 days of horrible weather with the highlight probably being glacier ice climbing.

We booked Snorri's online and got a great offseason deal book two nights get the third free (and it was already on the cheaper end of the spectrum!). We generally found it fairly tidy and clean. The manager Magnus was very helpful suggesting and booking all our tours. And the location was fairly central.

Breakfast was fairly plain cereal and cold cuts but was adequate and expected with that type of price point. I was at one point somewhat told off as I had taken two too many pieces of bread at breakfast and was going to take it for lunch rather than toss it in the bin. The staff has a very strict no food leaves the dinning area policy though which I was informed of in a not so pleasant way.

The only other downside was that the very last day when we booked our 5am return to the airport pick up with Magnus he called the wrong bus/tour company! Needless to say the driver wouldn't take our pre-bought tickets with the other company but the driver did call them on the radio after some pleading and were eventually picked up and we made it out fine. I think the confusion was not Magnus' fault as we had booked all our other tours with the company he had called and he probably assumed we had the same pick up company. But since no one mans the desk outside business hours this could have been a huge problem leaving us stranded if not for the niceness of the wrong company's driver.

Overall though a pleasant find and I would recommend it for a low price point for value guesthouse/hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights. They have a 3 for the price of 2 nights offer in the winter which is excellent value. Very clean room. Excellent location, minutes from town centre (in particular Hallgrimskirkja church).
Magnus, the owner has been extremely helpful. He booked some sightseeing trips for us and recommended what to see in Reykjavik.
Breakfast more than sufficient; cereal, juices, various teas, coffee, cheese, ham, tomatoes, toast, fresh (still warm) bread and other various breads, jams, Nutella, peanut butter, yoghurt and variety of fresh fruit.
Very good.

I have stayed here twice, and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. It is in a great location, but just off the main drag. You can't for more: a nice breakfast, comfortable rooms and friendly owners.

5 stars.
