This was the best experience I had in Iceland, and this is a LOT to say because we had an amazing trip overall. First of all, they are absolutely honest about the odds of seeing the lights, they email and let you know if weather is bad or not and truly try their best to set expectations. We were told it was not a great night and that weather was not too good, but that they still had their radars showing there was a fair chance for a sighting. We got picked up by the nicest and knowledgeable tour guide! Þröstur (Thruster) you are the best! Thruster showed us a great time telling us all about the tales and history of iceland, while we waited he showed us all kinds of stars on the telescope and gave us some nice hot chocolate. In my opinion, the best of this tour, is the good energy and the determination they have to show is the lights! We did hunt the lights for a long time, we stayed until 2am!! but once we they started, we didn't care about time or sleep! it was magical, plus we were the ONLY tour that saw the lights that night, and I know it was because of Thruster's determination and gut feeling! we trusted him and it paid off! Also, because they do SMALL tours (6 people jeep) you are able to democratically decide if you want to stay past a specific time- all of the people in our tour wanted to stay, and we were so happy! I have a few friends going to Iceland in February and I already recommended this tour, its just the most personalized experience out there!!! THANK YOU Happyworld!! OH and they also take pictures and send them via dropbox! we also have a time lapse of our lights!!

We had a great Northern Lights tour with Þröstur and Mariusz viewing Northern Lights and constellations. We had low intensity lights so they looked mostly white to the naked eye but we were lucky to have them all evening for 3-4 hours. It was very cold indeed but we learned ways to keep warm and after a bit some delicious hot chocolate was served. Some of the more rambunctious tourists had quite a lot of fun with the photographer. The star gazing was also excellent.

Thank you so much Julie S for this lovely review. We're so happy you enjoyed the night out with us, even though we all wanted more vivid lights! What a great excuse to come back to Iceland, eh? ;-) Thanks again, Happy days! xx

Booked via the tourist place on the main shopping street. They explained all the refund policies etc which seemed fair to us. The original booked night was cancelled due to inclement weather which was fair as the sky was completely clouded over, they emailed us by 18:30, and asked us to give additional dates so we could rebook, we chose the following night as it was our last and this was fine. We were told to be ready for pickup between 20:00-20:30 at our hotel and they collected us at 20:05 in a heated jeep. We then collected other guests and met an additional jeep at Perlan Observatory. They introduced themselves and let us know what the plan was, we drove towards Keflavik for about 45mins and stopped by the "haunted" house in total darkness, it was an excellent spot with clear views of the stars. The lights were already visible but faint, and they faded and grew on and off throughout the trip. Throstur's knowledge was amazing, he explained everything, he was very enthusiastic and jovial throughout the whole trip. His passion in his job was clear. They set up the camera and continuously took photos, group pics, couples, silly pics whatever you wanted. Also they had some fun lights to get some more unusual photos! They gave top tips on keeping warm, dished out super tasty homemade hot chocolate and traditional Icelandic doughnuts. Throughout Throstur also explained about the stars, discussing Greek mythology, North Star, Milky Way, Beetlegeuse, his knowledge is incredible, and showing us through the telescope he had set up. It was freezing, we did the trip in January and it was thick with snow, we wore full thermals and temp dropped to about -7c, you are outside for about 3 hrs, the jeeps have a special heat system that runs constantly and you can get in and out to warm up when you need to. Throstur and Mariusz continuously check on your comfort and we did feel looked after. We came back to all the amazing pictures emailed to us via Dropbox and great memories of their amazing stories! This tour is more expensive but well worth it due to the pictures you get, (can't take without tripod and long exposure), and the fabulous personal experience our guides gave, thank you!

We tried many times to see the lights in Scotland with no success (damn clouds!) but finally Happyworld's crew made this happen! We went for the tour the 1st of January, the day after we arrived in Reykjavik. Despite the forecasted minor storm the activity dropped during the night and the super-moon was playing against us; nevertheless, around 10 p.m the lights show up and we are finally Happy! Thanks a lot guys!

Our Northern Lights tour was amazing. Love the small group (6 of us plus the driver) so a lot of flexibility. It was looking like it was going to be a "no show" but our guide convinced us to extend the evening because he didn't want to give up and sure enough, we saw a spectacular show at about 2am! During the hours of waiting he kept us very entertained with stories and a telescope and info about all the constellations, etc. I HIGHLY recommend HappyWorld!
