Stayed here for three nights. Our room was pleasant enough although be warned that some rooms have a supporting pillar on one side of the bed which can make getting in and out an adventure.

The reception staff were always very helpful and friendly. It's about a 20 minute walk into the centre of Reykjavik, most of which is along a nice shopping street although you'll have to do part of the journey alongside a duel-carriageway (although there is a pavement set back from the road)

The let down was the Bistro. The service was slow despite there being plenty of staff. Asking for anything always got a friendly response, supplied with great gusto. And then they'd forget about you. Pricey too. Don't let this put you off the hotel though.

Stayed here for a week with family. We took a lot of tours around Iceland, and the hotel would organise these for us as well as arranging the tour bus to pick us up from outside. The hotel is within walking distance to the city centre (20mins) or you can arrange a taxi from the hotel to pick you up. Views are great from the upper levels especially if you have a north facing room. Rooms were large, spacious, quiet and very comfortable, a good place to relax after a days hard exploring. Food from the downstairs restaurant was delicious, but a little pricey. Staff very friendly and happy to help with any enquiries. Overall a delightful stay.

Really liked this hotel - clean, friendly with lots of services. However, would not stay again if travelling for pleasure. Stayed there with my husband for a long weekend and requested an upgrade to the executive floor which gave us a great view, breakfast and access to the executive lounge (drinks and snacks available till about 10pm each day at no charge - but you do pay for it with the upgrade cost!). The upgrade was nice with the extra big windows - but because of the time of year did not get a chance to experiance the view. The sun did not rise until past 10 am and set about 5pm and because we were out all day - would recommend that you save your money and stay in a queen room (if you can get one!).

The resturant Vox is REALLY expensive and not worth it. The cheapest wine on the menu was £40!!! And unless you like a little bit of food for alot of money - would not recommend eating there!!!

Location is a little bit rubbish too as it is a bit of a walk away from everywhere - they do provide a courtesy bus to the centre of town and there are pick up points dotted about town, so that is quite good.

Would just stay somehwere in the town centre.

Overall a really nice hotel - but more for the business traveller and for those who want a really nice romantic weekend away.

A top class hotel.

Bad choice of tv channels and old movies within the pay tv. And why charge for internet access? I consider this to be something that should be included in the rate.

Location could be better.

Except for this everything was fine.

There is a short supply of good hotels in Reykjavick and we had to pick this one as it was offered with an Icelandair package. The hotel itself is what you would expect from a 4* hotel, except I do object to having to pay to use their spa/gym/pool facilities. Advise you only drink alcohol in the bar during happy hour as the drinks are only half price, e.g. full price gin and tonic about £12, happy hour £6.

The hotel location isn't ideal, but they do provide a free shuttle to and from town that is very efficent. The reception staff were also very helpful and polite.

Rooms are nicely furnished and beds are comfy, we were lucky and had a front room with a great view of the town and sea. Nice size bathroom with complimentary toiletries. Watch out for the mini bar, if you so much as lift something out and put it back in you are charged, the mini bar works on pressure points.

Eating in the hotel is also expensive and the food in the Bistro was mediocre. Although their fine dining restaurant called VOX did have a good reputation. However, we did find a great restaurant in the next block up from the hotel (on the same side). Its called Askur they do excellent buffets at good prices. We did the Sunday evening buffet starting at 6pm and it was great value at about £20 per head. Their wine was also moderately priced. The restaurant was packed with locals which we always see as a sign the food is good.

To be fair to the hotel, its probably not all their fault that their prices are high, the Icelandic economy is in bad shape so they're probably not going to decrease their prices.

I booked a special weekend rate that included the breakfast buffet. I spent a few dollars more to upgrade to a larger room with a view of the mountain. The Hilton Nordica more than met my expectations. I have been to Reykjavik before so wanted to experience a different part of the city on this stay, hence choosing a less central location.
The view was great and the room quiet. The room was clean and had all the amenities you'd expect, including terry slippers. The furniture included a desk and chair, 2 additional reading chairs, 2 twin beds, and a very large bathroom with a huge tub. Hotel staff were extremely helpful - even let me check in on arrival since a room had become available. Breakfast buffet is huge: I don't recommend paying extra for it if you have to rush through breakfast though -- as in other hotels you aren't allowed to take any of the buffet items "to go." If you need a quick breakfast there is Cafe Konditori Copenhagen (Suðurlandsbraut 4a, Reykjavik 108) on the next block to right when you exit the Nordica lobby.
There are some other benefits with this location: a quick walk to the local public pool (approx. 280 ISK per visit) where I could soak in the hot pots. Several restaurants nearby (including Askur and Nings) so I wasn't at the mercy of the hotel's room service. The bus stop is right across the street so if you don't use the hotel shuttle you still have another option (if you plan on riding the bus a few times you may want a tourist card from the tourist office within the hotel that includes bus rides and pool access within its time limit or 24, 48, or 72 hours).
I used the Flybus to get from the airport to the hotel; i did not need to do a transfer to a smaller bus as you need to do for hotels and guesthouses closer to the center. The travel office within the hotel to help you with anything that you need including last-minute day trips. There is an ATM right outside the hotel which had good rates (at least compared to my Visa Credit Card!).

I booked this on the basis of the positive comments on Tripadvisor and have to say it totally exceeded my expectations. Our twin room was spacious, light, clean and smart with a huge bathroom. I have stayed in other Hiltons and this is far better than some, especially as it feels so new, the bar, reception and spa were wonderful, and it was just as nice hanging round at the hotel when the weather wasn't so great. Would definitely stay here again, Definitely make use of the beautiful spa whilst you are here.
