Maybe a bit from city center , yet walking was easy for us. Very nice, clean and helpful service, however it was quiet loud. Ask for a room off the street. If you are a Hilton diamond member it is quite a deal. We enjoyed lovely food, that substituted for dinner. Given the prices in Iceland, that is a savings for your next excursion.

Lovely, clean, Nordic designed and furnished rooms. Attentive, courteous and professional staff.

Breakfast buffet was busy whilst we stayed, however this was effectively managed. We did not have to wait to be seated and the buffet was consistently being replenished so that the various items did not run out.

Although this hotel is situated outside the city centre, it is excellently located near to the main routes in and out of Reykjavik. It is easily accessible from the main route from Keflavik airport and also a couple of minutes away from the main roads that take you to the major tourist sites in the area.

It has ample free car parking on site and if you don't fancy driving down to the City centre the hotel will provide you with a free bus pass (for upto 4 people) that you can use anywhere in the Reykjavik area.

The hotel doesn't have a swimming pool, however there is a fantastic public pool less than 10mins walk away (approx £3.50 per adult).

If you are lucky enough to have access to the Executive Club then you will be able to take advantage of the Hilton hospitality and have great views over the harbour and mountains beyond.

We stayed here for 4 nights with 2 teenagers and we would happily return.

Room Tip: Best views are from the upper levels on the harbour side. Our corner room was very large, light and...

During early August, a group of us stayed at the Hilton Nordica for 4-5 days. The room and bathroom were good, except that there was no chest of drawers to lay out our clothes. We either hung everything up in the closet, or kept it in the suitcase. They had a in room safe which we appreciate.

The lounges were very nicely appointed and quiet.

The staff gave us free bus passes to go into the main area which also allowed us to see how the city is laid out and how people live. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the main tourist shopping area and we were able to walk home until 10:45 at night ( which was still light outside ) and not worry at all.

The morning breakfast is great. The food is very plentiful and varied.

We ate at Vox, their in hotel restaurant one night. The burgers were good, great service, but their kitchen is S L O W ! ! ! They had plenty of staff to serve the food, but their chefs really take their time ( 45 minutes for 3 burgers, 2 salads and a soup. This is how long it took to get served AFTER allowing for the 20 minutes they initially told us it would take as they has 2 parties of 10-12 people to serve initally ). Lets's see, 20 + 45 = never mind. We ate dinner next door at Askir Brasserie for the next 2 nights which was very good .

Their concierge lounge is great with constant staff in attendence.

The staff speaks very good English, were very polite, always smiled, and made an effort to help in any way possible. We were able to borrow electric convertors for our computers which made things easy.

I recommend this hotel for it's very nice staff and proximity to the downtown area.

Our trip to Iceland started after the overnight flight to Iceland. We were pleasantly surprised to find out the Hilton had a room ready for us with early check in which allowed us to grab a nap before experiencing Iceland. The hotel is modern and the rooms are at the standard of hotels rooms in the US. I was also pleasantly surprised by the concierge lounge. The afternoon snacks/happy hour were excellent. The next morning we tried out the lounge for breakfast and were also pleasantly surprised. Everyone on the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only downside to the hotel is that there is no fan/air conditioning, requiring leaving the window open, Unfortunately it is located on a busy road which leads to much traffic noise. Also, the water pipes seemed to make a lot of noise during the night, not as restful as I would have hoped. All in all it was still a great experience.

We stayed two nights and the hotel was full all the time. This is quite a typical Hilton with good sized rooms, clean and well maintained.
We only ate breakfasts and enjoyed the fresh orange juice and great buffet selection. Because it was so busy we found we had to help ourselves to coffee and tea rather than wait for the overworked staff to serve us.

Room Tip: Get an even numbered room for view over the bay and mountains beyond. The higher the better!

... but this is better than any Hilton I've ever stayed at!
My wife and I checked out this morning after 4 nights here and absolutely loved it.
It's very modern, neat and clean.
Our room (admittedly a king suite) was huge, open and very comfortable with a great sea and mountain view.
The bathroom was excellent with a separate shower and bath and top of the range toiletries.
The breakfast was superb, with a huge selection.
If we ever come back to Iceland (and we hope we do as it's a magical place) we'd stay here without hesitation.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
The tour desk was very efficient. We booked several tours which exceeded our expectations and the convenience of collection from and drop off at the hotel was most appreciated.
The executive lounge was one of the best I've encountered, with a wide selection of food and beverages and a sensational view.
