I stayed at the Hilton Nordica for a night on the tail end of a ten day visit to Iceland. While the hotel was modern, clean and offered all of the amenities of a nice hotel, it was definitely my least favorite hotel of my journey. Iceland offers so much charm and warmth in the bed & breakfasts I stayed at throughout the country (even in Reykjavik), that my stay here was much more reminiscent of any above-average hotel in the States. Of course, this shouldn't be taken as a knock on this Hilton property. You generally know what you're getting from Hilton, and that's why many people will love it.
I am taking off 1 star for two reasons: paid Wi-Fi and an average location. I don't care what other hotels are doing, but it is inconceivable that Wi-Fi is not an included amenity in this day and age. Every small B&B I stayed at (for much less) included Wi-Fi in the room rate (as well as a warm meal, friendly conversation and a smile -- I can't mention enough how friendly Icelanders are). Also, this hotel is not within convenient walking distance of the main strip of the city. I would consider closer hotel options that you can walk to, rather than needing a cab or rental car at this rate.
