This is a popular restaurant in the old town. We had a lovely meal and enjoyed the bright surroundings and friendly and efficient service.

A lot of diners had opted for the fish buffet. Although it all looked nice enough, I am not a fan of buffets and was happy to be guided through the carte by the young waiter who looked after us for the evening. This is Rejkjavic so there are a lot of fish dishes but I was delighted to try the local lamb for a change. I can recommend it.

On the night we visited a singer/pianist duo entertained in an unobstusive style.

Very enjoyable night.

Thank Aberbud

we dined at this restaurant last week and we must say that it was overpriced and the staff were not very friendly.
my wife had a dessert called volcano which really was like a serving of strawberry yoghurt which you would have for breakfast at our hotel, very poor.
There are much better restaurants in Reykjavik.

After having been waiting for 45 we were finally contacted by a waiter. We ordered a mixed seafood pan and a grilled monkfish. Then we waited another 30 minutes for the food to be served. The dishes were absolutely delicious and well prepared with fresh fish, but we were quite unsatisfied with the lack of interest from the waiters to our table. It was as if they had all focus on emptying and cleaning after guests who ordered the seafood buffet. There are several other excellent fish restaurants downtown Reykjavik, so a good advice would be to improve the service level to a la carte guests, if you want us to come back to you.

The Reykjavik Restaurant is busy and popular restaurant that has a buffet of mainly fish where you can eat whatever you want for a fixed price. So it is nice that you can make your own choice and there is plenty of fish (what else would you like to eat in Iceland anyway?). As I am a real ''soup'' persoon I didn't like that the soup kettle was not refilled when it was empty. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy going.

Restaurant Reykjavik

This restaurant caters to tourists, but do let that stop you. They had a wonderful seafood buffer along with full menu options. It’s a mid-priced range restaurant with good quality meals and a staff who is extremely helpful, especially if you have a food allergy.
