Description: The Lobster House, located on Amtmannsstígur 1, has been operated since 1993.In that time The Lobster House has made a reputation for itself as one of the country’s most popular restaurants. The restaurant is located in the heart of the capital and is known for its comfortable and romantic atmosphere. The house was built in 1838 and its original look has been preserved, which provides the restaurant with its distinctive character. As the name indicates, lobster dishes are the restaurant’s hallmark (trademark). In spite of that The Lobster House’s menu is quite diverse and guests can choose between a range of seafood, vegetarian and meat courses. The Lobster House’s wine menu is equally diverse, offering a selection of wines from regions across the globe.

They may be mini lobsters compared to the Maine variety, but they are just as flavorful! The small size means that they are less difficult to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed the Lobster Feast at Humarhusid. This restaurant has good décor and the service is
fine. The "Lobster Soup" is very rich.

Catering to a particular atmosphere the food was what we expected, fine dining, well prepared, served quickly. The portions were reasonable and the staff were friendly. I would recommend this place if you're looking for something more posh than the run of the mill restaurant.

Nice decor and atmosphere. But staffs look like they are lack of passion as we didn't hear them talk more than 5 sentences while we were there.
We only had the starter and main because we didn't want to be stuffed. We had the lobster soup but to be honest, it was okay but not the best.
Moving on to the main, everything taste good but nothing spectacular.
For the price of what we get, I would go elsewhere with better food and cheaper (more valuable) price.

Had a great night here. Service a bit out if sync, but the food was amazing, lobster was perfect. 2 of us enjoyed our feast of lobster tails, the other had horse, yes, horse. Apparently it was amazing as well. Neat heritage building, lots of original charm. Good convenient location too.

This is an expensive restaurant, and I expected a top level experience. Instead I got an unfriendly hostess, a rushed meal, and a restaurant specialty mojito lacking two key advertised ingredients. If I based my review only on my lobster main course my rating would have been better (despite the small size of the lobster provided). It was well cooked and flavorful. But for the money the experience should have been excellent in all respects.
