We are good steak fanatics. Coming from South Africa where a perfectly matured steak is always to be expected, we've travelled the world in search of the ultimate steak.
This steakhouse produced really good, tasty and well prepared steak. Well done.
It is a great pity that your waiting staff let you down.
We booked a friday night, 8pm. You weren't that busy, so I wonder why there was a problem?
We had to search "our man" out on a few occassions, specifically disappointing was that we waited and waited for the wine list, and then waited some more.
Anyway - perhaps this particular evening was one of those "blip" nights?? If it is a good steak you're after and not too concerned about service, then this is a place to go.
Perhaps the owners could jack up the entrance into the restaurant as it looked cold and inviting, the little passage to the front door - what about some interesting candles in hurricane jars?
We have never seen such a huge, tall pepper grinder in our lives. Perhaps the waiter was hiding as he knew he'd have to grind if he worked??
Pricey of course, but then this is Iceland where everything is pricey.
Overall, we left satisfied and if back in Reykjavik, we'll head straight there for our steak-fix. :)
